  In mid November 2021 , I solicited Essential Landscaping LLC for fixing/correcting flooding issues in the drainage ditch in my front yard. Essential Landscaping provided a proposal for the work to done at a cost of $2,250.00 with a deposit of $742.50, which I paid to get the work started. The proposal was written to hand dig or use a machine to remove excess dirt in ditch line between right side of driveway and neighbors culvert, dig a trench and install a 4 inch corrugated tile perforated with sock, install gravel under tile and around, tile will start at driveway at exit of concrete pipe. Backfill soil over new tile to cover, install seed and Penn mulch. Install large creek rock right side of driveway pipe and create a spillway to cover concrete pipe and new tile. Essential will install a 4 inch corrugated perforated tile with sock on left side of property line to culvert, install washed gravel under and around pipe, cover with soli. Install large creek rock and create a spillway to cover concrete pipe and tile. After the install was done, I paid Essential landscaping the remaining balance of $1,507.50. After a week, we received heavy rains and the ditch filled up like a river, all the dirt and seed went down the drain and washed away, exposing the drainage pipe. I called Essential Landscaping in early January 2022 explaining their fix was working and the ditch was still filling up water, like a river, sending pictures of the non functioning pipe, I was assured they would send someone out to look at the issue as soon as they could. The account manager came out in early spring looked at the ditch and said, we’ll get this fixed. He came out two more times after that and in early July came with the Landscape designer to look at the ditch and propose some additional landscape ideas. By this time, I’m really upset because the fix to the drainage ditch was not corrected. I called again on Sept 7th requesting a full refund and was told they were coming Thurs, no show.

  ***** ******** called ****** ******* 9/14/2022 to discuss her drainage job we installed the end of 2021. We had had several communications during the spring of 2022 and planned on going out to repair some damage due to wash out, from a heavy rain. This project is In a waterway and prone to flooding. ***** ******** went out on 9/15, We discussed about the problem with the job, mainly the reason the drainage is not working as it should is do to a blockage down stream on the adjacent properties, this is casing water to back up onto *****'s property and not allowing it to dry. There is nothing we can do on these properties, so ***** is going to call the city and see if they can help. We did have some communication issues with ******, we did go out in June of 2022 to discuss other projects and a different solution for her drainage we sent out a proposal by email June 14th I believe, which our software shows was sent. ***** said she did not receive this, we did not follow up with her, we assumed she was still thinking about the project and we had been very busy as well. ***** assumed we were not interested in helping her and that we were not going to work with her. This was not true, it was just a misunderstanding. After meeting with ***** Essential is going to repair a option of the drainage at no cost and put a proposal together to add additional spillway that were not part of the original project. Essential will be doing this portion at cost as a good faith gesture. We are also waiting to here from the city to see if they will fix the drainage swale. When I left ***** seemed very satisfied with what had happened and agreed with what we had proposed.

  We will either fix what we promised after the city makes repairs or before depending on what they are willing to do.
