*proposal accepted 7/25 via email with tentative start date of 8/9 listed on instrument
*8/7: informed start date would be the 15th
*8/12: Informed would not be starting until the 22nd as they had a bid for an additional job accepted. Dana informed me that it was a house from the tornado which had a leaking roof and even though that bid was accepted after my acceptance, they were going to do that house first “as they have actual damage whereas you can still utilize your bathroom”. I stated that while I understood that, and did not intend to be a jerk, my original contract stated tentative start date was the 9th and we were already a week past that. Dana stated that Paul had verbally said it would be 3 weeks from contract acceptance email and that the written date of the 9th was just a typo.
*8/15: Received text at 730a that they would be there to start Demo at 830 and he found a friend to help him (Mark)
*8/15 - 8/17 work seemingly progressed well: Laundry plumbing was installed and 3 new lights were installed with new switch
*8/18-8/23: Mark left Unattended - VERY poor workmanship. Mark sanded all of the drywall mud without a full kill sheet on the bathroom door. Utilizing my **** *** (without a proper Hepa Filter or a dust collection bag), the **** *** was simply spitting out all of the dust into the air. It was so thick that it set off the smoke detector.
8/24: Paul returned for the first time in days, where I heard him ask Mark what happened with all of the dust and Why things weren’t done yet (I did not hear an answer), and told me that Mark blamed my **** *** for the mess (please note that the official contract states that the builder will provide all tools).
8/25: No One came to the house, attempted to reach Paul. No response
Although some dust is expected during a remodel, My house is now absolutely covered in Drywall dust from top to bottom and I am having to hire a professional cleaning company to come in and deep clean.
