Absolutely DO NOT recommend this establishment We took our RV to Gramps RV Parts & Service LLC, after looking at their BBB rating and ****** reviews. We called to confirm that they can troubleshoot and replace RV Inverters. We were assured that was something they could do. For $90 they will determine if it can be fixed or needs replaced, and if it needs replaced, the $90 will be applied to the new inverter installation. We got the call quickly that the inverter was working and we could come get it. And, it would be $540. WHAT? We’re pretty sure they are required to contact us if the amount was going to be more than the quoted $90. Rule 109 4-3-13 Motor vehicle repairs or services Ohio law gives consumers the right to a verbal or written estimate for motor vehicle repairs costing more than $50. Suppliers also are required to obtain the consumer's authorization for additional repairs or services that will cost more than 10 percent of the estimate. We go to get it. He said he replaced a bad wire under the RV. We are shown that the inverter is ‘green’ and working. If we make a check out to him personally, he won’t charge tax on the $540. We write the check and he says, let me go unplug it from shore power. WHAT? If it’s plugged in, we don’t know if it is working. He unplugs the RV from shore power and the inverter is solid Red and displaying the same error codes it was showing when we brought it to him E01 and OL. He quickly hops out with our $540 and says, I’ll get back on it. We leave it with him. We get another call, it will be another $1500 to replace it. We go to pick up the RV. Upon getting there, we asked how he determined the inverter is bad. He said, and I quote - I went on the Internet and followed the steps to troubleshoot it. We took the RV back home in worse condition it was in when we took it to them. Now our dash lights no longer work. We still have a broken Inverter displaying E01 / OL errors. And $540 poorer.
