I wish I could give this company a zero star rating. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. After spending over $10,000 on their water filtration system in less than four years, all I've gotten is a money pit of constant problems that they refuse to acknowledge or fix.
Communication is nonexistent. My calls are ignored, and when I finally got through, I was told I could only speak to management. It's been over a week, and guess what? No one has bothered to reach out.
The last service call was a disaster. My aeration filter got stuck in a continuous regeneration cycle, which has now damaged my well and caused flooding in my home. We’re talking about nearly 6,000 gallons of water in less than 10 hours! This has not only ruined my property but also put my family's health at risk. Oh, and let’s not forget—there's oil in my water system!
This company has left me with extensive damage and a serious health hazard, yet they seem completely unconcerned. If you value your money, your home, and your family's safety, steer clear of this company. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes, and their customer service is abysmal. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere!Kinetico Incorporated

Hi *********
This is Kinetico Incorporated responding. Your products were installed by Kinetico Quality Water Systems of Newbury. They do function as a separate entity with their own management structure.
We read through your concerns and contacted the installer's management to understand this matter. You have all our empathy due to what is taking place on your property and with your well.
The history as on file:
2022 August: installation of water treatment products to treat iron and methane gas
2025 April: service: ro, iron filter and pellet dropper
2025 June 9: service: ro filters plugged, serviced iron filter
2025 June 12: service: water treatment products fouled by crude oil
KQWS of Newbury paid to have water samples sent off to a lab to confirm the contaminant is crude oil.
Sadly, the well becoming contaminated with crude oil is outside anybody's control. It is not the result of the function or malfunction of the water treatment products. It did not exist when the water treatment products were installed in 2022. The crude oil contaminating the water supply presented last month.
The equipment installed in 2022 for iron and methane will not treat, reduce or remove crude oil from the well. This is an exceptionally unfortunate situation that we truly wish our products would treat.
We must refer this matter to the county board of health or a well company to facilitate potable drinking water at this residence. We wish you the very best and stand prepared to assist in any way possible.
Kinetico Incorporated
The service provider's records are as follows:

I already had a Kinetico water softer and was satisfied. At the time of the original water test I was told we had a slight trace of sulfur bacteria. They told me how to treat it and it worked great for 14 yrs. Recently we noticed an odor with our water so whatever to have a water test done and discuss additional equipment required. Kinetico sent me an email saying my FREE water test was scheduled. A rep from Advanced Water Quality System, Inc. arrived and tested the water and confirmed what was already known. He asked to go into the basement. He looked at the water softener. We went upstairs and he handed a brochure for additional equipment for the odor and a bill for $160. When I questioned the bill, he looked at he water softener therefore serviced it. However, if I agreed to the $3100 purchase within a week they would deduct the $160. I reached out to Kinetico customer service and after many emails said there was nothing they could do. I believe I was scammed and Kinetico was either complicit or just doesn’t care about their customers, well now ex customer.Kinetico Incorporated

Kinetico Incorporated provides a web form customers can use to request a water analysis at kinetico.com. Once completed by an interested new customer, it is sent to the independently owned Kinetico dealer in that customer's area.
Kinetico Incorporated did not schedule a water test for Mr. ************ We sent his completed form to Advanced Quality Water Systems in MA. This is the company that scheduled the appointment for Mr. ************ an existing customer of theirs.
Kinetico Incorporated does not own or franchise Advanced Quality Water Systems. Kinetico Incorporated is not party to this transaction other than sending the customers form to AQWS.
As explained to Mr. ************ because AQWS is an independently owned company, Kinetico Incorporated has no legal authority to direct this company's pricing or billing.
Concerns regarding billing between AQWS and this customer must be addressed by the management or ownership of AQWS.
Kinetico Incorporated mediated this customer's concerns and opened communications between the customer and the dealer. Mr. *********** continues to address Kinetico Incorporated directly rather than the appropriate party that billed him.
The owner of AQWS has assured us they will follow up with Mr. *********** and close this matter.Review fromDL B

5 starsHello - I am writing to tell you about a Kinetico inspection call today.
We have been Kinetico users for over 24 years - including two different homes here in Carmel, Indiana. We have been very happy with the Kinetico filter and softener performance over all these years - and continue be so. We have been using the K5 water filter and 4040 water softener with NO problems after moving into our cottage-style house 11 years ago. ! I change the K5 filters every 12-18 months (when it tells me to) and the 4040 big filter every year or two.
Nick Saunder/Territory Manager came over today to inspect all of our Kinetico products. His test showed that we continue to have good soft water. Nick is very personable, knowledgeable, and thorough in his discussions with me. He also showed me how to change the 4040 filter if I am so inclined in the future.
In summary, Nick Saunders is a very professional and nice person, and the Kinetico products continue to perform very well for us. We would definitely recommend Nick and Kinetico to our family, friends, and neighbors.
Best regards,
DL Bowers

5 starsI have a whole home water treatment system. It is for my drinking water, which is connected to my fridge, and a dedicated faucet in my kitchen. Once you have great-tasting water, yeah I know, water that tastes good. Lots of people like bottled water, but that's expensive. Having a Kinetico system in my home, as well as a softener and equipment to remove chlorine in my water has saved on my appliances. I'm living proof. I saw white streaks in my dishwasher. I had white, crusty buildup around the kitchen sink faucet. Once I had Kinetico installed, in about 20 days or so, the staining was gone in the dishwasher.
Companies push to use their products to remove stains in your dishwasher. Chemicals to treat chemicals. I'll use soft water, and no more chemicals to remove staining. It's been a great system. Completely worry-proof! Great product! Highly recommend it for your family as well.Review fromBrandi S

1 starKinetico Indianapolis has the worst customer service I’ve ever recurved in my life. Had an issue with my drinking system so I paid for a technician to come out. He told me my tank was bad and to buy a new one. After buying a new tank the system still didn’t work. Another technician came out and told me the membrane was bad so I replaced the membrane and it again still didn’t work. Finally my boyfriend went into the crawl space and noticed the water line to the ice maker was disconnected. Water had been dumping into my crawl space. I called to get a refund on the service call out since the technician didn’t diagnose the issue properly and I spent $600 on new parts for no reason at all. After speaking with multiple people with Kinetico, I was told no one would refund my service fee and there was nothing thing anyone could do. Not to mention not one person returned my call. Terrible business. I hope no one chooses to use this company. Go with a competitor if you know what’s good for you. This company is completely unprofessional and doesn’t have technicians equipped with any knowledge in their product.Review fromdavid h

1 starKinetico is the most expensive system that I found and offers the least value for your money. I had a Kinetico water softer system for over 20 years and it worked flawlessly with no maintenance.
So, when I replaced it, I had no concerns about getting my new system from Kinetico. Since that day I have regretted my decision. The system has failed within the first 2 years and my warranty is useless.
Kinetico would not come out to review my system until I provided my credit card. They repaired defective components in the system and never considered my warranty. They charged me a huge service charge with additional charges for components that they claimed may be bordering on failure. So, over $300 for repairs and service charges for a system that is under warranty.
All within the period of the supposed warranty. I will tell anybody to avoid this unethical company.Review fromPablo V

1 starThis is what I was told By Kinetico customer service when their chosen certified sales and service franchise partner failed to show up twice for a scheduled service call, and they didn’t even bother to call to let me know they were not going to show up (even after I brought to their attention several other customers who experienced the same horrible service and left equally poor reviews).
Regardind number is 290534, “Kinetico Incorporated does not own or franchise Superior Water Systems. We cannot legally direct their operations and have no control over their schedule.”
How can a company whose brand and reputation depends on who they chose to do business with and who they give exclusive rights to sell and service their product think they can relinquish all liability/responsibility when that franchise refuses to honor their commitments!Review fromBrian J

1 starKinetico and their customer service department have been the absolute worst company that I have ever had to deal with. First off, the system that they sold us is sub par, under powered and under-sized for what our well water needs. We have very HARD water at our house and they sold us the K5 system with RO drinking water. For the first year-year and a half we went through tons of salt. Come to find out that the float that is in the salt tank broke and we were over-salting our system due to a system malfunction. Once that was corrected, we stopped using so much salt but our water was still leaving salt deposits on everything, including our RO water. Our refrigerator was making "shallow" ice cubes (not being filled all the way) due to low water pressure. Kinetico had to come out and install a separate air tank for the line that leads to our fridge to increase the pressure in our water line for our fridge to make solid ice cubes. Our pH level of our tap water is below 7 (which is acidic) and it is eating away at our oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and leaving salt and calcium deposits all over the base and handles of them. We have attempted to contact the company about all of our complaints and they have started to ignore us and not return our phone calls. What a waste of time and money. Please, if you read this...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Anywhere else!!! This is by far the worst company I have EVER dealt with and am still dealing with (unfortunately). I would leave a zero or negative star review if I could...but unfortunately 1 star is the lowest they will allow me to go. I plan to continue to complain and fight with this company until they correct their system or make it right! I am a combat veteran and I refuse to give up.
