The final payment was made on April 24, 2024 for the vinyl siding installation. Please see attachment of the contract from White Glove exteriors. There are numerous issues with the vinyl siding. The house was not wrapped but was charged for the wrapping of the house. The vinyl siding was improperly installed in that the old plastic started strip was used, vinyl siding began oil canning/waving almost immediately. We have had numerous discusses with John E**** and we cannot come to a resolution. Please see attachments. I was not able to upload all the pictures we have taken of the issues with the vinyl siding.

Siding IS NOT WARPED OR OIL CANNING.

One wall ( Left elevation) is warped. The WALL is warped. Not the siding.

Oil canning takes at least one year to occur ( never has happened to me in 28 years).  It occurs when siding has been nailed too tightly, and homeowner was shown that the siding is indeed " floating ion the wall", so that when the home expands and contracts, during winter/summer, it can expand AND contract along with the home. We proved to him that it was indeed installed correctly

Housewrap:  We informed the homeowner that the existing housewrap would be used, and that we would be refunding him the money for the housewrap that we were returning. He was refunded.

    Starter Strip:

Unbeknownst to me, the existing starter strip was reused. The Installer was fired, and I offered to completely install new starter strip around the entire perimeter of the home.

I AM NOT WILLING TO REFUND the homeowner 100% of the job.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Please see the ********** letter dated 5/30/2024.  The ********* VSI certified inspector and the Siding Warranty Administrator have stated that the vinyl siding is oil canning.  White glove stated that the wall is warped causing the oil canning.  Please provide documentation, pictures, independent 3rd party testimony, etc. to collaborate there are issues with the exterior wall.
Please provide documentation showing my signature agreeing to use the existing housewrap.  Also, provide documentation on the refunded amount.  I have not received any documents regarding the housewrap, refunded amount or final receipt.
As the general contractor it is your responsibility to verify all aspects of the work are done correctly, including the installation of a new starter strip, in accordance with the 2019 Ohio residential code of Ohio, Chapter 7 entitled Wall Coverings.  This is the code the City of **** is currently following.
The entire house needs to be re-sided and new house wrap installed.  We are still requesting the entire amount to be refunded.
