Contracted painting began on 6/1/23 and finished today, 6/19/23. Total balance paid was $2867.03. Renovation contract will be uploaded along with pictures. Incomplete and shoddy painting has caused me to look elsewhere for a different painter. Walls are not completely covered, trim and lines look horrible, and we only found out the day of payment that he never planned on finishing the professional job that he was hired for. He mentioned that we got what we paid for, and that he was only going to do one coat of paint. It looks terrible. Paint splatters on the ceiling, trim, holes in the wall also. He rushed out to begin a new job today, so he wouldnt leave without full payment. I cannot afford to start over with a new painter to redo his mistakes. His understudy that he had with him also made a ton of mistakes. We paid for completed rooms, and we received a poorly covered, sloppy job that was rushed. I have had other professional painters come by to look at the finished product, and they were in disbelief. Never once was it mentioned by the contracted painter that he would not be completing the job which is blatently below the acceptable standard. I really need some compensation financially to hire better painters to fix his mistakes. He claimed that we only paid for one coat of paint, but he painted. He stated verbally that he would fix the walls in our bathroom and never did.

I don't have a contract with a ***** *****. The contract he is showing  is for an ***** ********. Any lack of communication about this project or his expectations should be between these two people. I fulfilled the contract based on the information and price point discussed with ***** ********. If you have any other questions please let me know. Thank you.

This is ***** ******** the contract is with me but the other homeowner ***** ***** was also involved because the house is both of ours. I was never told that the paint on the walls would not be full coverage and when it came time to fix the issues he was compliant and said he finished the problems. We looked over his work and when he left, none of issues were fixed. When it came time to collect the final payment he stated the contract just said rooms to be painted but didn't mention how thorough of a job to be done. My family and I have been deceived and only gave kindness and respect. I waited longer that anticipated for the job to be done displacing my children out of there rooms so he could paint them. To find out the prior paint is still showing in all the rooms is a disappointment. To tell me your going to fix my walls in the bathroom and mud them but then tell ***** a different story is deceiving. Very poor work for a professional or we at least thought he was a professional, but he claims that I didn't pay for a professional work.   We were never told there was a difference. I wanted my kids to have fully painted rooms and my bathrooms to look nicely painted but instead I got a rushed, half finished job. It breaks my heart to have to find another painter to fix his work because I work hard for my money and to give it to someone that is undeserving of the payment is a shame.  Every square foot of work, there is an incomplete blemish.  Sticky notes remain on our walls showing each area that never got the attention that we paid for.  Two professional painters arrived during what was supposed to be a final walk through, and they were appalled at the quality of the work.  Full paint coverage and sharp lines should be the minimum standard for someone who considers themselves a professional paint contractor.  I could take 200 individual pictures of the aftermath as examples of the shoddy work

The contract was completed and  done on a budget that fit the customers needs. I also went above and beyond what was stated in the contract. Items that were not in the contract that were completed include: caulking the trim, mudding the walls, replacing drywall, replacing trim molding in the bathroom ceiling and fixing a roof leak. The customer was aware that you would need 2 coats or prime the walls when using darker colors. She stated she was on a budget and could not afford that. I was upfront and honest and went over all of this before the job started and through out the process. The job was completed and the left over paint was left  for ***** to do any touch ups on her own. ***** was fully aware of what was going on and I updated her on a daily bases.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The painter never asked any questions about budgeting to fit our needs in any conversation, so to say that is a complete lie. The caulking and trim was done very poorly with no effort in. Uploaded pics will show this.  When wallpaper was removed, mold was present and he had soneone else put drywall up that we in turn paid for. He stated you never know what you will get into until you pull the paper off but was not a big problem to fix. He put flex seal on our roof sunlight because he thought there was water damage, but when he went up there it looked dry and seemed to have no problems. Our brand new toliets seats were scratched and gouged up by the painter so we had to go out and buy different seats to replace and he only paid for one of the damaged seats in return for putting seal on the window that really didn't need it. Yes he said he would mud the walls but failed to mud all of them, leading to ripples in my walls.  Pics also uploaded.  As a professional no real painter would ever paint over damaged walls. I have a crack in my sink that was never there til he was in the bathroom but claims it wasnt from him but it is completely brand new, never used. He told me he was putting a second coat in my sons room and I saw him start to paint over what he had already done but clearly stated he never did so. He never once told me I needed to prime and paint first. That is all fabricated.  Clearly I'm not the professional,  that's why I hired him to do the job, but in return got poor half finished work that is disgraceful in my new home. He left the paint, that we paid for, so I could do his job for him because he was rushed doing his work here.  In the beginning he told me he would take the trim and paint it real nice when we were going over the house.  He apparently doesn't understand that verbal contracts are also enforceable.  The pictures uploaded tell the story.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:

You got paint on our brand new carpet.  You promised that you wouldn't get any paint where it didn't belong and once again,  you lied.   More damages caused by your unprofessionalism.  How do you get multiple paint spots on carpet and still call yourself a painter?  Proof is in the pictures
