    1-26-24 Kurkowski Home Improvement entered into an agreement to install a Split System and Insulation in my Annex. The business was paid 3600 dollars by ***** transfer through my bank. The contractor then proceeded to disappear. Work was never begun on this project and no restitution has been made by the business.

    Payment ($9,800) was submitted for the job on 10/19. Job was expected to take 2-3 weeks.
    Work was slow to start because of "scheduling issues". Communication was good upfront but progress was slow. Kurkowski would send 1 or 2 guys for 2 - 3 hours but they would sit in there car for an hour setup the ladders work for 30 - 45 minutes and then start cleanup/teardown and leave. I have multiple line items on the quote that I have paid for that haven't been touched. It is now 1/10 he hasn't returned any of my calls, vms or text messages since 12/10. He wont even send me an invoice for my records so I can show the foundation repair has been completed by a licensed contractor. Very disappointing. I would not recommend doing business with this company..

    November of 2021 I engaged Mr. Kurkowski to renovate a property was purchasing, **** ********* ******. I lived in ********** *****. The property closed on 12/2021 and work commenced. Between Mid-November 2021 and April 2022 I gave Mr. Kurkowski a total of over $43,000. The initial bid was $34,000 (round numbers). Mr. Kurkowski kept asking for more and more money, for a variety of items. Up to and including an HVAC unit to be installed in the house. Mr. Kurkowski claims that the items he hunted for in an off-market fashion, saving money, were not stored in the home, are not available nor present in the house. I did tell Mr. K to stop work on the house. The items I gave money for were cabinetry, flooring, vanities, toilets, plumbing components, paint (25 gallons) etc. There is ONE item, a door, that is in the property. I discovered the state of the property when I went to get the property listed for sale June of 2023. Mr. K lead me to believe the property was not in such horrible shape. He lead me to believe the HVAC was installed. He asked if he could 'borrow' the appliances in the house and would replace. I asked over 10 different times for them to be replaced and he stalled, stalled and would not execute. The property is under contract to be sold for $120,000. I bought it for $159,000. And gave him $43,000. The property is now uninhabitable, the plumbing stack is broken due to his irresponsible demolition, and he has taken property. I want my money back.
