    We used Deckorative Construction for a renovation of our home in the **********. We were very dissatisfied with the administrative control of the project, the cost control of the project, the work quality on the project, and the integrity of the company.The sordid history was highlighted by an overrun of 80% from the original estimate of the 800 ft2 home addition renovation. We the homeowners purchased the Appliances, Countertop, Cabinets, Windows, Flooring, and the Generac Home Generator / Transfer Switch for the renovation that was started in January of ****************************************************************************************** December of 2023 with the project over 18 months after the promised 6 month initial duration estimate of June of 2021. We were also presented with a lien of over $100,000 which was dropped after some costly legal work.The following lessons were learned:a. Get a signed contract vice a written estimate for the project.b. Utilize change orders for ALL changes over a set amount.c. Perform a pre-construction credit check of your contractor to determine IF anything goes wrong that any legal dispute is worthwhile to contest.     Too much to address with the inaccuracy of this review. This customer was given a budget based on a scope of work. They agreed to the budget. Work was added and changed to the scope by the customer and completed at their request. They didn't want to pay for the extra work. Both parties sought counsel and the matter was resolved with a written settlement and mutual release agreement.
