      Contacted MJB to complete my mini make over. Called for an estimate and it was very detailed on what would be done. I needed the walls painted in my basement as well as the ceiling painted black for the warehouse look and can lights installed. Time frame took 2 days and me and my husband are very pleased with the work MJB has provided. This owner gets the bad wrap for all the wrong reasons. He goes out of his way to make sure that his customers are satisfied at the end. Its unfortunate that as a business owner he is held accountable as we all know good help is hard to find. We will definitely be using MJB renovations to complete our landscaping this summer.. ********************

      I had 2 dealings with this company and wanted to share our unfortunate experiences.
      I do want to state the owner, MJ, is very like able and pleasant but would encourage anyone to get a detailed contract of what work will be performed, materials required (including cost and source), cancellation fees with specific reasons for cancelling and duration of work and expected completion.
      First job was a floor installation. He was to remove all molding around floor, take off glue so wall could be painted. Floor was installed by two of his workers in one day. They were pleasant and completed in one day. We had to ask the owner to come back 3 times to complete work he said he would do - finally gave up asking.
      Second tentative job was refinishing wood steps - i cancelled when we had two accidents on the steps and decided carpet was a safer route. A family friend is doing free of charge. MJ refunded $1500.00.
      The other job i requested a whole house fan - MJ inspected and said needed a ridge vent and my present roof vents were not cut open. After thinking this through i found my contract as the roof was installed 2 years ago. Called the original roof installer out they showed me vents were cut. Called a contractor and another roofer both said no ridge vent with vents and vents cut. So i cancelled with MJ. All monies were not refunded. I asked for receipts he stated he did not have to provide. I asked him to provide rationale for $315.00 to be withheld- he said he was the owner not a grunt and did not have to provide rationale.
      I would have gladly paid restocking fee. I would have paid a reasonable amount for his time. I received no detail on connection with the amount.
      If you use this company, GET ALL DETAIL in writing.
