Pike water has horrible customer service. They are slow to answer emails or don't respond to your email at all and never answer the phone when called. I moved into my new home end of June/first of July. I transferred everything over. Two to three weeks ago I got all my bills upcoming for the month but had not gotten a water bill. So, I emailed Pike County & had not gotten a response regarding not receiving a bill or if I could get my account number in order to register online to see the bill at least & pay it. I never heard from them. Today 9/3, I receive an automated call saying my bill is delinquent & my water will be shut off. I have heard from many people that Pike water was not very customer service oriented & now I believe them firsthand. I called before close today & of course again phone just rings, and rings, and rings. I then called back as an emergency and talked to answering service for someone to rectify this issue because I am not paying a reconnection fee when I have NOT gotten a bill for starters. I cannot stop by the office either as I work M-F and by time I get home the office is closed.

Absolutely pathetic. I was billed monthly for 4 months by pike water and on month 5, I get hit with a $370 water bill. I pay for the water leak protection and the first week we had a massive water leak in the crawl space. I called them and they said it would be covered since I pay the insurance. Now in month 5, they tell me their meter didn't read and they are charging me for the total usage from the first week we moved in, including the water leak that is "Covered by the insurance". They gave me a credit for the minimum I'd been paying, but, refused to let me pay the usage (including the leak) off over time. This left me with a $243 bill instead of something manageable that is spread out over 5 months of payments. Now the insurance doesn't cover the leak since Pike water's meter didn't read and I get hit for 5 months of usage and the leak all at once. Their advice was to call in if I'm not getting Billed. How am I supposed to know I'm not getting billed when i receive and pay a monthly water Bill regardless of if their meter is working. It's not okay and puts a massive financial burden on a person, especially in today's time.

Customer called into our office concerning the high bill. We gave Mr. ***** an
adjustment for the minimum bills that he was charged for with no usage since we did bill him in one large amount. They did state they had a leak. We do have Servline that will
give our customers a leak adjustment. I have reached out to a customer specialist concerning this matter. They did state Mr. ***** did not contact them but if he would
reach out to Servline they would be able to assist on a leak adjustment. They stated to qualify for a leak adjustment they would request proof of repair on the leak, determine if the leak is a qualifying leak adjustment, and then wait for 3 months average to provide the amount of the actual leak reimbursement.
Also, we could split the payments up over the next 3-4 months but we could not take the entire amount of completely.

Per my original comment, I asked to split payment up to which I was told the only thing I can do is give you a credit for what youve already paid. Had the option of splitting the bill been allowed, I would have never filed my BBB complaint. I asked repeatedly on the phone to split the bill up over time and was denied. I paid the full bill at that time as I had no choice (pay or your family goes without water). Just to clarify the above comment from the business. They denied that they could split the payment. Also, the insurance was never explained to me. I had called pike water the day following the leak. They made no mention of calling servline, and stated if I paid for insurance, it would be covered. Thus, I never called a 3rd party as I was unaware of there being a 3rd party. Regardless, the only reason this complaint has been filled, is the following:1. Pike water (knowing they had taken money every month from me) attempted to make me double pay the minimum payment. They gave me a credit for this. So no big deal after the call.2. I asked repeatedly to split up paymentsas pike waters comment says they do. I was told the only thing my manager says I can do is, give you a credit for what youve paid. So, I was denied splitting payments. Thus leading to me paying it all at once (why would I do this if I had the option to split?) Pike water wouldnt split the payments as requested, so I filed a complaint with the BBB to make their consumers aware. I never wanted the bill to be completely removed. I just wanted to spread out payments and was denied the option.
