    My wife and I asked Ben Drake Construction, LLC to finish our basement. *** ***** gave us the contract on 3/29/2024, he agreed to start the project on 4/18/2024 and finish it on 6/6/2024. See the attached contract. Now it has passed more than 6 months, he only finished half of this project. He sent 2 people to work this project for a few weeks, then stopped for 2 months due to his surgery (we don’t know it was true or not). Then resumed the work, but just 1 person worked very slow, sometimes came, most time did not show up. Now, he has stopped the work again for more than 5 weeks. We sent a message to him or called him, but he had no response. So far, he has not start to work ceiling, doors and Bar area, even the material of these area are not bought yet. Bathroom has not been finished. We bought office and closet material, but he has not installed them yet. Floor trim material is not bought yet. We have paid him $27,400 plus the floor plank cost which we bought; he agreed pay us $2.50/SQFT plus tax which is around $3880. The total We have paid is $31,280. The rest labor and material cost are more than $15,000. We are contacting you to help resolve this issue. We hope he can finish this project as soon as possible or pay us back $10,000.     Paid for half of a window install on August 2nd, stated install would be August 22nd. Never came due to weather (which was agreed upon).. asked for updates since then and it’s now a month and a half later and no response. Project not even started.

    On 3/2/2024 we met with Mr. ***** and agreed to have his company do some interior remodeling on our house. The cost was $12,420. Mr. ***** said there would be a 10% discount if we paid cash. We gave him $6200 cash. Work was to start 4/17/2024 but did not start until 7/15/2024. In the next 2 weeks his company only worked 3 days on our house. The work done was inferior and has had to be redone. We texted Mr. ***** on 2 occasions to find out when work would be done but got no response from him. On 7/26/2024 we informed Mr. ***** that we were canceling all remaining work. I told him to take all his expenses related to this job from the $6,220 and return the remaining money to us. We heard nothing. On 8/7/2024 we sent him a certified letter requesting our money. The letter was signed for. Again we have heard nothing. We are contacting you to help resolve this. We are owed $4,800.00. On the paperwork that
