I have an ongoing dispute over charges involving my wife's account and also mine. I believe payments for my wife's account were credited to my account by mistake. My wife has called numerous times and left a voice mail to the billing ****** at ****************************************************** and not received a call back. She also spoke with a representative at the Dr's ****** and was told that it appeared that the payment was recorded to my account, but we never got an answer or call from the ******************* I have been a patient of Parschauer for years and I regret having to report this to the BBB but I feel I have no choice. We are now being threatened to be turned over to a collection agency. I was able to finally get ahold of someone at the billing ****** and was told that the $75 in dispute was for a charge for me. I requested a itemized statement for both accounts so I could compare them to our EOB's from our insurance so we can put this to rest. We have not received any itemized statements and through my research I can't find the charge for the treatment in dispute on my account.

Feb 2021 they sent me to collections without billing me, ever. Feb 2022 to present they keep billing for a covered expense. I keep contacting my ins co to see if they have resubmitted the claim, they have not. I call the office repeatedly and only get an answering machine. Now they are ready to send me back in to collections again. Their letter says I make no effort to contact them. I have paid the entire balance that I am responsible for, if billing dept would bill the same as previous years this matter would be resolved. This is the same required exam I've had 3 years in a row. My coverage has not changed.

      To Whom It May Concern,

I received notice for complaint ID ********.  Our response is noted below:

Regarding the collections for 2-2021, 7 statements were sent to the patient prior to turning the account to collections.   The account remained in collections for another 6 months before it was acknowledged.

For date of service 2-2022, we have been working with the insurance company for the past 6 weeks to get this issue resolved.   We have sent in a form to change the billing 3 different times and the insurance company has not acknowledged it.  We are doing our best to resolve this issue.

      Thank you,
      Parschauer Eye Center

      I am rejecting this response because: ***** ***** <*******************>

      ** **

As per our conversation this morning, I was unable to get into the online version on my phone and at home, so this morning at work was the first chance I was able to respond.

After first calling my insurance company to verify once again the actions of PEC, Inc.  I am not completely convinced they are telling the truth in this matter.  My insurance company (****** answered the phone with **** ***** and **** ******) and assured me that on September 30 was the first time any submission was made to make any changes to change my claim.

I had previously paid the $20 copay on my account and the $75 amount that I knew that I would be responsible for paying.

As for 2021, let's be honest here, if I am so passionate about this matter, why would I let seven bills from the prior year go with no response, and then let the matter go to collections and wait six months to pay?  I have responded to each and every one of their bills with a phone call but they have not returned one of my calls.  Not one single call.

I can tell you this, I am required to take this major eye exam once a year, because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis, but I will not be going back to PEC, Inc.  If I have to travel to ********* for an exam, a 2 hour drive for me, I will do so.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration on this matter.

PS - I use ***** ***** in my work capacity.  I am registered in the complaint as ***** *********.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *********

As a follow up to our conversation from last week.  I wanted to forward this information.  I have been sent to collections and have started being hounded via phone calls and mail now.  I have however, received notice that my insurance payment has gone through and I wanted to show that i paid my portion of the bill in February and June of this year.

      Thank you very much.
