We hired *** ***** ******* for a demolition job at a commercial property in Englewood, OH. The quote was very reasonable and *** ******* seemed like a standup guy considering he was a veteran. Initially, the project was 90% complete by the second week (quoted 10-14 days), but there were some additional issues that came up and *** ******* was very willing to help. With that into consideration, we decided to pay *** ******* before the job was completed. *** ******* assured us he’d finish the job by the weekend. 1 day turned into 5. 5 days turned into 3 weeks. He became unreachable despite multiple follow ups. He later claimed he was overbooked and promised to find someone else to complete the work, but nothing was getting done. Each and every time there was another excuse.

The remaining tasks involve disposing of debris, clean up, and removal of a few other items. Not to mention, the work that was performed was very unprofessional and lackluster. Once we reached out to our attorney, *** ******* mentioned that he would give us a refund for 10% of the work that was unfinished. And as you can imagine, there has been additional excuses left and right and the refund is still not returned. We advise anyone considering hiring *** ******* to contact us first to avoid similar issues. We have the pictures and conversations to back up our claims.

      Hello!

We understand how you are upset with this situation.

For starters the remaining debris you claim that I left got put on the back burner after you changed the scope of work. The original quote was to demo and haul off the office furniture. Then you said one of the tenants wanted to keep the furniture so instead of doing traditional demolition work, I had to bring extra labor and disassemble those pieces that I told you from the start would not be possible to just disassemble and move. They were custom built for the office areas they were in and I made you aware of this.

After all of that work, we still ended up having to demolish and trash the furniture.

Secondly, I only quoted to demo a ceiling in one room which was completed per the contract. The other room with the wires was not in my contract and I still offered to help with those, while trying to coordinate with your property manager to help. Unfortunately our timelines did not meet due to a high volume of work that I had accumulated during this time.

I also offered to help with the window area that got damaged during the storm, and was pulled away from that when you needed the furniture removed instead.

I offered to refund the 10% via cashiers check which I mailed but never made it to the correct address. So I offered to do Venmo once the check was cancelled, and cleared in my account which is supposed to clear today (11/19/2024).

Attached is a screenshot of the original quote/accepted estimate for when we originally began work. I still have no problem issuing the refund when it does clear.

From this entire experience, I’ve been taught that when “change orders” are needed to complete extra or other requests for work, I need to document everything.

If you have any questions you know where to contact me.

      Have a good day!

*** ******* was correct on two occasions where there was a change of scope. However, *** ******* assured us that the work would be completed and after weeks was not done. A refund was assured and we are still 2 weeks out from the latest excuse. No mail has arrived. No venmo received. Here are (some) of the photos of the completed work.

I hired ***** to take down and haul away a gazebo. He did most of the job but didn’t take the post out of the ground. He said we would come back to get the post. I thought it would be ok to pay him and he would finish the job. He no called/no showed me on the day he said he would come. I reached out and he said he was sick. I reached out again after 2 weeks and he said he was busy catching up on other jobs. I asked when he would be able to come out and he never responded. I reached out again 4 months later after the winter months and I asked if I could just get a portion of my money back. He said he would pay me “in a short while”. Then he told me he was “coming off a long dry spell”. Then he said he would pay me a week later and of course he had more excuses and he said he was “waiting on invoices to clear”. I went to the local police department and filed a report. The police officer said he could help mediate this situation to try and come to a solution. The police officer tried calling ***** but he wouldn’t pick up. He clearly has no intention on finishing the job or giving me some of my money back. Do yourself a favor and avoid this man at all cost and definitely do not pay him a penny until the job is complete because he will take your money and run.

The owner of Just Haul’er has agreed and has followed through with returning $200 of my money. The issue has been resolved. I’m not satisfied with their effort because it took 6 months to either remove 2 post or pay me $200 but in the end he was able to get my money back and that’s all that matters.

      Thank you,
