I was a previous client of Payroll 4 Construction (P4C) and decided to recommend P4C to a new company I was working with. Let's face it, when processing certified payroll you want a company you can rely upon and an expert in payroll + taxes. So I'm truly taken aback by the unprofessional treatment recently received. First take note there is no management structure. If an issue occurs that needs resolution, it's highly unlikely to be resolved in a professional manner. During my implementation, I had a question about tax set up in 2 states. I was thinking about hiring an employee who lived in Oregon and would work in California. I wanted to know how the payroll taxes would be processed. What would the tax set up look like. This is the exact response I received. "We are not tax professionals" and I would need to direct my question to a tax professional. I thought to myself, perhaps I'm asking this question the wrong way. I tried asking another way and was met with the same response and mind you it was not sent with pleasantries it was sarcastic. I then requested to speak with someone from the management team to clarify my question. After a week on not receiving a reply, I was forced to reach out again to obtain support. Needless to say, this went back and forth until I decided P4C did not take my issue seriously. When I asked for the set up fee to be refunded, I was told in no uncertain terms NO. If a payroll company is unable to assist with a simple question about set up for 2 state payroll taxes in a knowledgeable and professional way, it would seem logical to return a set up fee. Who needs this type of nonsense from a company you plan on paying to process your payroll. Think about when you're knee deep in uploading your payroll, you hit the process button and receive a payroll error. Your next option is to call for help and you're told "We are not payroll professionals." Save yourself from this type of company. They do not know what they

Disgusting business practices, total lack of honest and integrity. 'Customer service' utilizes strong armed gestapo tactics to realize unearned revenue. Our company was paying for a legacy version of the McCormick software that they weren't using for estimating. When I came on board, I was evaluating the different products out there but because they had an established relationship with McCormick we decided to give their cloud based subscription a try. We were charged for 2 'seats' that we cannot utilize at the same time. The software was too un user friendly for the owner, so we inquired about certification / training, to which we were told was either $300.00 hourly online, or a in person training in either Arizona, or Ohio for $2400. So with a little over a month in we decided to go with another provider that had better digital recognition, an unlimited amount of users, and training / certification included in the subscription price, all at a lesser cost. When informed of this cancelation McCormick then offered free training and a discounted subscription, to try and save the business. Since this had languished over a month, we decided to go ahead and cancel. That's when we were informed that we had a year long commitment, that was never discussed in the conversation to set up the service, but in fairness was in small print on the subscription agreement. In any case, if the software and customer support were any good, a reputable company would not need a commitment clause to keep their customer base. Just a sleezy, used car salesman, cloak and dagger company with a mediocre product and dishonest business practices. There are better offerings out there. Buyer beware!
