On Nov. 30, 2023 was in emergency room Flower Hospital. Had to spend a night for observation. Was told observation is not impatient and insurance will not pay for meds.

A week later I was back in ER at Flower. Stayed 2 nights, again under observation. Again insurance don't pay for meds.

A few weeks later I received bill. Each bill has one med price way over and about all the others $230

I was told I was being charged 28 days supply each time.

    1st stay 1 dose

    2nd stay had 2 doses

So I was charged $460.00 for 56 doses and only had 3. No remaining doses were sent home with me when I was discharged.

Calls Promedica customer service twice. Both times it was put up for review. Both times denied.

Patient was agreeable to send to ******** part D or his med plan and let us know if he had trouble. He didn't reach back out so we thought it was resolved. The appropriate department will reach out to the patient on 5/30 to work towards a resolution.

I am rejecting this response because:

I paid for 2 inhalers are a cost of $230 each, totaling $460.  I was sent was not sent home with these prescriptions but paid for them when I only received 3 puffs of medicine.  I'm seeking reimbursement for the prescriptions or the 2 inhalers with the remaining medicine.  Thank you,

    Sincerely,

I was charged $1593.00 for the ER visit and another $1266.00 charge from the hospital.

    Business Response

We have had the account audited by our charge analyst supervisor:  charges are billed per CMS (government) billing guidelines. The amount for the facility charge is for the three medication injections. We can mail the patient an itemized statement. The patient can also contact medical records to obtain copies of what happened during the visit. We are unable to waive the charge.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the bill I have enclosed states that the pharmacy charge is $198 and I received four injections and one pill. When I called the hospital I was told that the hospital charges the $1266 for their fee as well as the ER charge of $1593.

    Sincerely,

    The medications are
separate from the administration. The facility charge is for the intramuscular
injections of the medications, and a separate charge than the Emergency room
fee. Again, the charges are correct as billed. We can mail an itemized
statement of all charges if you would like.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: how can there be a $ 198 fee for injections yet another $1500+ fee for receiving them? It is still a double charge for one service

    Sincerely,
