Do NOT do business with this branch. I went in 2 times, and it was ok. I even set up an account. The 3rd time I went in, which was Thur., May 8 at 9:20, as I walked towards the branch manager, a staff lady's DOG came running up behind me and BARKED at me!! For starters, did she really have to bring it in to work? IF it was a Service/Therapy/Comfort dog, it would not have run up to me and barked. Second, she did NOT have her office door closed, so the thing just ran out after me. Next, I saw it was dragging a leash. Did she not think to leash or secure the animal to a desk, table, etc.? Anyway, she came over to pick it up & said, "I'm sorry." Since I have been bitten 2x's in the past by dogs, & was attacked by a pit bull in 2017, I have diagnosed PTSD and a phobia related to dog incidents! Go figure. I was in a very stressed state since: it came up behind me, it ran (not walked) up to me, & it barked. Out of reflex, I hollered out to everyone in the room, "I have PTSD related to being attacked by a dog/pit bull years ago. And, a dog phobia." She apologized again. I continued, "Not everyone is a dog lover!" I gave her an icy cold glare as she went into her office w/ the dog. I turned to the manager, who apologized. After a pause, she asked me, "Are you OK?" Well, I couldn't even think because the dog's actions just "set me off." I muttered, "I'll come in sometime next week." As I walked out, I hollered, "Not everyone is a dog lover!" I got into my van, took a pill to calm me down, and called my local VA (I am a Disabled Veteran) to talk to a trained nurse. Before I hung up, he told me my regular nurse would see me once I arrived. Talking to ******** regular nurse really did help. I left 2 messages at the main ********** & left an email. Not until the next Wed. did a live person call & ask about the incident! She was very sincere & had an "excuse" why the dog was there. **The branch manager never did formally apologize! I walked in there ***. & closed my account.

Mr. ***** please accept our sincerest apologies; this is not the customer experience we want our customers to have when visiting one of our branches. Union Savings Bank is a community bank, and we take pride in offering quality customer service. As a community bank, dogs are not prohibited from our buildings, however, as you mentioned, not everyone is a dog person, and consideration must be given to that. Your discomfort with dogs is understandable given your past experience. As a community bank, we want all customers to be comfortable in our branches. It is my understanding that the branch manager did mail a handwritten apology to you shortly after the incident; I hope that you have received it. Please contact us directly if you would like to discuss this further. Also, please know that if you should ever decide to give the bank another opportunity to show you that all customers are valued, the branch will make every attempt to accommodate your banking needs.

As of yesterday, I have NOT received a formal apology! Branch managers are responsible for what happens in their bank. A simple, sincere written or typed apology would not be too much. Too late now. I know not to do any business with you folks

      Hello!
I wanted to express how disappointed frustrated and angry I am with my experience with USB. we initially came to Neil because we had a horrible experience with a previous lender, and Neil reassured us that he would help us out and take care of us. At first Neil was very helpful and very responsive but once he figured out that he had messed things up he would go days with no response. And when he would respond he would tell us the same thing and was very rude. He even went as far as asking why were we packed. That we only had a pre approval. Like what, we are days away from our closing date, the title company is ready to close, and our file was with underwriting. Why would we not be ready to move and be packed? That really made me feel some type of way by him saying that. After submitting the paper work to underwriting he claimed that an unexpected item popped up. Which was not a new account and other lenders have seen that account and have brought to our attention. Then he said that the car was a factor which he told us to refinance during this process. And we did. Because of refinancing the car his credit score took a huge hit because he sent us to three credit unions before getting an approval on the interest rate he was requesting us to get. Now we have to wait a few months for his credit score to go up to start this process all over again. This is extremely frustrating and embarrassing to say the least with the realtors title company and everyone else involved. We were so close to closing that we gave notice to our apartment complex. And we were all packed and ready to move. OUR CLOSING DATE WAS two DAYs AWAY AND WE JUST NOW GOT NOTICE THAT THIS WAS NOT A GO. THAT WE COULD NOT CLOSE ON THIS HOUSE because of his credit score, which took a hit because of refinancing his car, running his credit with multiple lenders, which we were told to do by Neil. I truly can not believe this happened to us. This experience has given me depression and anxiety.
