I visited Tuffy Shop at 7403 Central Ave to replace a tire that had a nail in the sidewall. What should have been a routine service unfortunately resulted in multiple issues, including a serious safety concern: 1- The shop installed a tire that was not identical to the existing three. I noticed the mismatch a few days later. 2- Around three weeks after the service, I began receiving multiple error messages on the highway related to the electronic brake system. 3- After inspecting the issue, I discovered that one of the wheel speed sensor cables had come completely loose from its three clips. The cable had been rubbing against the wheel until the insulation wore off and the wire was cut, disabling the sensor. This cable is located behind the wheel and is not normally disturbed unless something is intentionally altered. I strongly suspect the cable was unclipped or mishandled during the tire service, although the shop denies having touched it. While I can’t definitively prove they caused the damage, the timing and nature of the issue raise serious doubts. This incident turned a simple tire replacement into a potentially dangerous situation on the road. I’m filing this complaint to formally document my experience and to urge the shop to review their procedures when working around sensitive vehicle components. To restore basic functionality, I performed a temporary repair to reconnect the cable. However, I want the cable properly replaced at a qualified shop of my choosing, as I no longer trust the original shop to do the repair safely or correctly. Desired Resolution: I am requesting reimbursement for the cost of replacing the damaged wheel speed sensor cable at a reputable, independent repair facility. I also hope this complaint leads to improved care and accountability to prevent similar issues for future customers.
