On July 15, 2024 I bought a car from Mackauto world. The original sticker price for the car was ******. I gave ***** so the remaining balance should have been *****. I called the next day and asked if my down payment would go towards the remaining balance and the secretary said yes. I asked how I still owed ****** if the down payment went towards the price on the car and she said I had to talk to the owner. The owner told me the car was not ****** which was the sticker price on the car that was told to by the secretary. I have a recording of the secretary telling me as such. The owner told me I had 30days to pay tax and title on car. I told owner I can possibly Ill pay the tax and title before the 30days. The payments for my car note would be due on Fridays. Starting two weeks from July 19th which would be August 2, 2024. The owner repoed the car on July 30th saying I owed for tax and title. Which was not due for 30 days and missed payment. On February ******* the owner repossessed my car for a balance of $850. I went to get my car to pay balance the next day. The owner told me he would not do business with me anymore and I had to pay $***** if I wanted the car back. The owner told me I had 3 weeks to pay the balance of the car and says the only way I was able to get my belongings out of my car was to return the keys. The owner then sold the car days later and I feel it was bad business when I have invested ***** or ***** into the car already. He never gave me a chance to get it back after he said he would hold the car for 3 weeks I have documentation stating the owner says they would hold car for 30 days.

Customer came in demanding his belongings while i had an office full of people. This was his 3rd Repossession. After his second Repossession he never made a payment. after trying to reach out to him he would not respond or communicate with the office. I reached out to him from a different phone number, and he answered and when he found out who it was, he said he was on his way and never showed up. After cleaning out the car he came back a few days later asking to get his garage door remote and plates off of the car.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: When arrived to the facility the only person who was there was the front desk assistant, and a co-owner who was assisting another customer. I tried to pay the bill and she told me I had to talk to Mac first. The assistant told me to wait and went to get ****. When **** arrived at the front where I was sitting in the lobby he approached me and said. Why was I was late on my payment and I told him the reason. He responded by saying he was not giving my car back unless I have ***** to pay that day. I replied and said I had money for my past due balance and the repossession + fee. He responded by asking how many times has he repossessed the car. I told him 3 times but the first 2 times he came and got the car before the payment was due. Other customers started to come in, he then stood up gave me a piece of paper and told me to write a number and he will maybe give me my car back. Then shouted out loud let him attend to some good paying customers and walked away. I believe the way he handled business was extortion. He seen what I wrote and told me no and said the only way I was able to receive the belongings out of my car was to give him my keys. So I gave him my keys to get my belongings because I did not have ***** to give. When the bill due was only $850 + repo fee. I got my belongings out the car came back the next day bc I forgot the garage door opener and the plates off the car. I did not want to keep the plates on the car because he refused to give the car back. **** said I had 3 weeks to come up with the money and later that week they sold the car. Before the matter was resolved after *** already invested ***** into the car that Ive had since July *******. So I then contacted the BBB about the matter. I would like my money back because he has already sold the car.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ******

I made an purchase of an vehicle & 2 weeks into having the car the engine blew… I called the shop to have it towed the owner told me that I was responsible for paying for a new engine & refuse to accommodate me with a refund or I even agreed to accept a different car.. now when I call to speak with the owner he doesn’t return my calls or says that he’ll get back with me …. The car has been sitting at his shop since 10/25/24. I made my first payment on the vehicle 10/24/24.

The customer and I have had contact. Unfortunately she went and got an oil change at someone's house as she stated and later the car stopped running. When the vehicle was sold to her on 10/10/24 she had no issues. All her issues started Hours after her oil change on 10/24/24 or 10/25/24. When the Vehicle was towed in to our lot,  We checked her oil and there was no oil in the car. After i contacted her she informed that she just had Someone change her oil. I stated well did you see them put oil in the car because there was ZERO oil in it. That Same day her father came to the shop and i showed him on our security cameras that i had to add 5 Quarts of oil into it. He then stated well she had an oil change done. I then responded to him it seems whom ever did the oil change did not add oil. He said where do we go from here. I told him he would need to replace the motor. He said he was going to talk to his daughter and he would help her with the repair.  On 10/31/24 Her father **** was here at Mack's Auto World and Stated he is going to helping her with the repairs. Since 10/31/24 i have not heard anything else about this vehicle.

My car was having an overheating issue. They state my thermostat “melted” & claimed to have replaced it. Two months later it started overheating again. I took it to a professional mechanic who showed me that the thermostat was never changed. The thermostat was still in its original housing. Business is refusing to provide documentation of repairs.

Company told BBB that you originally brought vehicle in and asked them to replace the part and then drove the vehicle for 4 months before returning and saying that the part was not changed the first time and the problem with overheating was still happening.  The company said had you brought it in sooner, they could have shown you on video that they did the work, despite your claims.  IF the part in question was bad, the company could have swapped it out and got another from the parts company, but despite their attempts to reach you, you have not communicated further.  They also said the vehicle was purchased from this company and no one has made a payment on this vehicle since your claims their work failed to correct the problem.
