The concrete patio they poured has cracked in less than 4 months. Edges have concrete pulled out leaving rough edges. Section borders don't match, varying between 2 and 4 inches. Joints between sections are wavy. Ridges in concrete were not smoothed. Clean up was poor, new concrete left on existing concrete pad. Driveway damages during a repair.

Demo old concrete patio areas and replace with new, pour additional area adjacent to rear patio.Work completed 9/17/24-9/20/24, Asphalt Sealed 10/10/24. Cost of concrete work was $9750 and Asphalt work $2750 each portion paid by check upon completion.

Both the concrete and asphalt were reviewed by an unaffiliated 3rd party local concrete/asphalt contractor to ensure my concerns weren't unfounded. The asphalt sealer was of inferior quality that is already retaining even light impressions and failing, the cracks were not properly filled and done with DIY grade product already cracking everywhere. Patchwork looks terrible and is failing, multiple areas missed and only 1 coat applied where standard is 2. While the quality and longevity of the work is the primary concern we also found the rate charged for the asphalt work was more than double the local going rate. The cost provided by the 3rd party had they done it was $1300.

The concrete work has surface areas already crumbling, spider cracking covers the entire surface of everything they poured, lighter white discoloration over large areas denser efflorescence covered corner, discolored edges. Many other areas where excessive tool marks were left, edges not worked properly etc. just overall lack of attention to detail that individually may be considered minor and even overlooked but in total are highly disappointing.

I've made multiple attempts to call and text the owner photos of the issues, explanations of my concerns and requests to meet that went unanswered. The last we heard from J**** was he would meet at the house Oct 10th, he did not show or make any contact. He has not responded to any further attempts to contact him.

I would like a full refund for the asphalt work so someone with proper material and equipment can be hired. I'm willing to discuss immediate replacement of the concrete, otherwise a full refund. We have photo's of everything but they are too large to upload here.

The contractors came out to dig the framing for my driveway widening, they completely damaged my driveway and claimed it was already like that before the project began, owner called my driveway dogs**t and said I should've just replaced that instead. No resolution was reached due to his arrogance

Driveway poured on April 25. Driveway cracked across the entire middle of the driveway on April 26. This crack was faint but visible. Showed this to his finisher and he stated "the worst he has ever seen, they added too much fiber, it will have to be redone". According to J**** the owner "concrete cracks, that's what it does". He also stated to me "if it gets worse I will tear those to sections up and redo them, I'm not going anywhere". June 12th, crack has grown 3 times as wide and is now chipping in multiple spots. I asked him to please come and replace those 2 sections and he refused.

I poured a driveway for ****. The driveway did get a crack across it not long after pouring it. I told **** that concrete cracks and that we do our best to try and control that by always cutting control joints.  Concrete cracks. That is  guranteed from myself and any other concrete professional across the world. I will always tell a customer that when asked.  I will NEVER gurantee it NOT to crack, because it always will.  The crack **** has has 0 to do with my workmanship. It was natural, and nothing I could have done differently to keep that from cracking.  I do 1.5 Million a year in work and have a A+ Rating through the BBB. I told **** it is in no way a structural crack. It is holding together because I added Rebar reinforcement throughout.  **** himself wanted to add fiber to the concrete we poured. So we had that added at the plant. Which is normal.  Whatever he said my employee said for one, makes 0 senses. It's not going to crack becauseof too much fiber. Fiber actually is put in to help with holding cracks together, and to help prevent shrinkage cracking. I have communicated multiple times w **** over this crack/ situation.  I told him I'd work w him if he wanted to pay for material ect. To replace the area.  He isn't happy w that from what I'm reading here.  No concrete company in the world will promise/ gurantee that concrete not to crack . Just to Note. **** saw this crack BEFORE paying me in Full. I've done as much as I can do, as a contractor can in this situation. I never even received 1 phone call about this before he notified the BBB. I even went back in my call log to double check that I didn't miss any calls from him.

Well, I'm not sure what else I can do here.   I offered to come out and split the cost with **** to replace the crack, which is more then reasonable. Concrete cracks, every concrete company will tell him the same thing.  **** has no reason to not trust my workmanship. I poured 3 of his neighbors, with 0 complaints.  I also have one on schedule just up the street from him that has saw his driveway and loves the work. So to say he doesn't trust my workmanship, with the reputation my company has in the tri-state is pretty bizarre.  Also, for him to say the way I've treated him?  I have not ignored him, I've stayed in contact, even talking with his wife after he threatened to sue me. I have offered to split the cost, which is more then fair in a situation like this. Just to note again, I was not paid until the job was 100% completed. Not 1 dollar was taken up front. This was paid in full, after completion, from ****.  I also poured the neighbor directly next door to him after his project with 0 complaints.

    To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to reiterate my initial observations regarding the concrete driveway, which I first shared with the client in early September. My assessment revealed two key issues: a couple minor hairline cracks originating from the corner of the stairs and traversing the driveway, and a deep crack spanning the entire driveway. As a concrete company and foundation repair specialists, I attribute these issues to two primary factors. Firstly, the base (gravel) was not adequately compacted. And secondly, the concrete was not properly reinforced with rebar, roll mesh, or fiber-reinforced concrete mix. Furthermore, I suspect a 'hot load' (industry terminology for ready-mix concrete undergoing hydration while still in the delivery drum) may have been used. Evident from the exposed rock aggregated near the driveway's end (Apron) indicating improper mixing. Concrete naturally hardens and cracks but adhering to established protocols and best practices minimizes issues.

Hello R****, this is **** ***** on ********* ***** invoice ****. Can you please email my wife or myself your assessment of our driveway please? We have a claim with the BBB and they are asking for a professional opinion on what caused the crack that continues to get worse. You had said it was structural and probably caused by concrete being too wet. We are trying to get them to pay for it at which point we will have you do it for us. The BBB said they need that first. Please, we want to get this resolved and repaired.

Subject: Concrete estimate and additional information

Attached is the estimate from a Third Party Contractor to fix the driveway. When the
contractor came to look at the driveway, he said it is a structural crack and it goes all the
way through the concrete. From his expert opinion, he said it was from too much water in
the concrete when it was poured causing this to be a structural issue. Therefore, the only
way to fix it is to take out the pieces with the cracks and pour new concrete. He also stated
that if this does not get fixed, it will continue to get worse and be a hazard. This is the
estimate to remove the cracked concrete pieces and pour new.
I am also attaching a current picture of the crack which is measuring 1.8 mm. You have
other pictures that shows the entire crack and in some places where the crack is even
larger. According to this website and concrete experts, if you are able to stick a quarter in
the crack, it is a structural issue and will continue to get worse and dangerous over time. As
you can see this crack has gone from a hairline crack to a structural crack in less than 6
months. 11 Types of Cracks in Concrete + What They Mean [With Pictures]
Attached are also text messages where we asked Mr. A******* to come and look at the
driveway damage and his response where he clearly was not coming out to look and
discuss in person like we asked and went silent until we followed up. Also, he said we can
pay him $3,000 for him to fix it. What contractor expects the customer to pay for repairs
right after the job was completed. Especially when his website states where they stand by
their work. Please refer to A*******’s All in Concrete website where they state they “stand
by the excellence of our work” and “Top Quality Commercial & Residential Concrete and
Construction Services Guaranteed.” Home | A*******s All In Construction
With the damages to our driveway that occurred right after the job was completed
combined with how A*******’s All In Construction has treated us is cause for BBB to
change his current rating so that future customers are aware of his business
    practices and are protected.
