on 4/5/24 Gravel was supposed to be placed off the alley way in the parking spot. The alley was blocked by tree trimmers. The driver asked them to use their skid loader and pull his dump truck with 9 tons of gravel up over the concrete pad since they was blocking his way. in doing so the dump truck broke the concrete. I called them, sent them pictures , also sent the the footage from my ring camera and their story changed numerous times but said this wasn't their fault or their problem. I spoke w ******* **** the owners daughter who said she was making all the decisions. She also shares the same last name of the driver who did the damage

    Business Response

    Date: 04/24/2024

On April 5, 2024, a load of gravel
was ordered by ****. The instructions per **** were to deliver the load of
gravel to her address and dump in the parking spot off the alleyway. Upon
arrival at the address our truck driver was unable to get to the alleyway to
dump the load in the instructed location because there was a tree trimming
service blocking the alleyway. Our driver spoke to the workers of the tree
trimming service and asked if they would be able to move for a short time so he
could dump the load in the instructed location. They told him they were unable
to move, and it would be about 3 hours before they would finish. Our driver
called **** on the phone and explained the situation to her. He explained that
it would cost him to sit there and wait on them, or he could return the load
back to the quarry. He also explained that she would still be charged for
trucking to return the load back to the quarry. **** told our driver that she
wasn’t paying for a dry run. He then explained that he could cross the concrete
pad to get to the area to dump. He also stated to her that we are not liable
once we leave the roadway. She agreed that he could cross the concrete pad to
dump. The driver accessed the area and seen there was a good incline that he
would have to go up and over to get on the pad. He knew the truck wouldn’t be
able to do it alone so he asked the tree trimming workers that had a skid
loader if they wouldn’t mind giving him assistance by pulling him up and onto
the concrete pad. They agreed to help. The driver with the help of the skid
loader backed up onto and across the pad and dumped the load in the instructed
    dumping location per ****.
                    After
the delivery was made later that day **** called us complaining that her
concrete had been cracked by our driver delivering the load of stone to her
instructed dumping location at her address. She sent us photos of the concrete
pad. There is already a dumpster sitting on the concrete pad which would have
been delivered with a larger truck than what delivered the load of stone to
her. She also sent us the ring video from her location showing the same story
our driver told us about the delivery and the situation with the tree trimming
service assisting him in getting the load to the instructed dumping location
    per ****.
    I, *******, the office manager
reviewed the photos and video that were provided to us by ****. In the photos
and ring video you can see the cracks are old cracks that had already been
there prior to our driver arriving at the location. In the photos you can see
weeds and dirt protruding through the concrete from old cracks. We have spoken
with concrete guys that work with concrete new and old making repairs. The guys
have seen the photos and said they too agree these are old cracks and were
already there before our truck crossed the pad. They said with the wet season
Ohio is having they may have gotten worse, but they were not caused by our
    driver and truck.
                    Our
company is a family owned and operated business for over 50 years. We take
great pride in our customers, jobs, and our community. With **** telling our
driver to do whatever it takes to get it dumped because she wasn’t paying for a
dry run, the driver did the best he could do with the help and agreement of the
tree trimming company that was there on the site with him. We own up to the
mistakes that we make but unfortunately for **** this was not a mistake our
company or driver made, so therefore we will not be making any repairs to her
    concrete pad.

    Sincerely,
    ******* ****
