      We have CT COMM (Champaign telephone company) internet to our house. I have been led to believe that they are the only internet provider with a line down our road.The issue is that we are paying roughly $50/month for 50MB/s of internet, yet we usually only get 2 or 3 MB/s when I run a speed test. the internet here is pretty awful. I have called and complained, as well as talked with 2 different service techs that have told me our line is only capable of 14MB/s or so. This is an estimate they gave me based on an estimated distance from the box to my home.I am paying for "up to 50" when my line is physically incapable of coming anywhere near that. The next issue is that we rarely, and I mean rarely, ever get any actual speed over 10MB/s. Its usually more like 2 or 3 or less. I have several screen shots with horrible internet speeds, I just ran a speed test at 0.33. That is ("zero point 33" not "thirty-three" just to be clear).It seems to me that I am paying approximately $1 for every 1MB/s offered. I feel that I should only owe Champaign Telephone about 30cents this month for the internet I have received and yet I paid them $50 again.This is ridiculous. I have attached a screen shot of the recent 0.33MB/s speed test.

      CT COMM acknowledges that there are limitations to our internet speeds in some of our outlying areas, as such, our pricing is offered in tiers, meaning that speeds can be "up to" 50mbps download speed for the price that you're paying, but due to limitations in our service area, not all locations may receive that capability. At this time, the tier that this customer has is the lowest tier speed that we offer, at the cheapest rate we offer, it is also a "priced for life" offering that will not change in rate unless the customer elects to change to a different package (not recommended at this time). I attempted to reach out to the customer at the phone number provided on this complaint and left him a voicemail to return my call.
