In 11/2021 I came home from vacation to a burst water heater. After dealing with insurance I hired this company in 1/2022 to do the repair/replacement work to my home from the water damage. He was paid, $10340. After they were in there working I noticed things were not getting done or were done poorly. They had put holes and gouges in my walls, and chips on my bathtub. I started asking questions, but was getting no results. In March, the owner told me their work was done, but I would need to hire an HVAC company to "reconnect" my duct work (for heat and ac) from the underbelly insulation that had got wet. I questioned and sent pics of things that were not done or complete. During late March, early April, there was a smell of death in my home. I assumed an animal had crawled up under and died. Due to the time of year, I was unable to get an HVAC company to my home until April 2022. At this time he not only pulled the rotted moldy insulation from under my home he informed me that the insulation had NEVER been replaced. I went back to the insurance for help only for them to tell me it was my problem and this service had already been paid for. I contact a couple attorney's, they both inform me to take him to small claims court because I would spend more in attorney fees. Problem is small claims is only up to $6000 claim. I don't know what else to do. I can not use my heat or ac, I have had to buy portable or electric, which has almost caused a fire. I have all correspondence with him pics of the unfinished or poor work and of course wet moldy insulation under my home. I have all I need to face this monster that did such a horrible job and has no clue how to run a business. When I finally confronted him about the insulation and him not replacing it as they said, his texted response was they feel the work is complete and to send all info to his lawyer, which I had already given him in January. This was on June 14 2022.

I met **** ****** through a mutual friend as well as ***** ********* **. Worker back in 2017 . She called me to ask if i could meet with her about a water tank that leaked while she was on vacation and that the water tank was already changed out to a new one but the insurance company gave her a claim along with a check and that she was having a hard time finding someone to do the scope of work . So she came to my store on 12/30/21 and we went over the claim as well as the scope of work. I sent her out a proposal which she agreed to and we went back and forth for about a week before we started the work per the proposal. As we demoed the existing flooring we took pictures and documented daily progress that I would text her . We would text or talk everyday after she got home from work to go over everything. Everything was going well as we only found dry water spots and not mold. We had to lay some self leveler in an area and cut out and replace one piece of sub flooring that was damaged. We were very close to finishing the job per contracted proposal when Miss. ****** wanted to know if we are going to fix a hole that we caused when taking off a piece of baseboard and I told her yes my brother had told me about it and we will take care of it and we did as i have pictures and text messages to prove so. Then she asked if we could do some extra work there and I wrote up 2 more separate proposals that she agreed to. The closer we got to finishing up the more she would want done that was not part of any of the 3 contracts such as, fixing an conduit elbow that was already separated but she claimed we caused it when putting in a new ceiling fan, multiple scratches and divets to coat with drywall mud to her walls, bottom of several door jams had water damage to them so i asked her to put blue tape on the several areas . We would fix them and then she would say she wants other door jams fixed as well. We understand that a punch list may have to be completed at the end of a job and we did everything that was on our proposal and some extras but no matter what we did she was combative and short with me when I would try to explain these were not in my scope of work per proposal. We found a piece of wet insulation which we changed out and between that and any mold on subfloors was addressed as per the insurance claim and our proposal. Miss ****** was extremely happy at times but extremely combative and angry at other times but would apologize and would tell me to not get mad at her but she just was asking questions but it seemed to be an uncomfortable and unstable work environment at times. The A.C. unit and the scratch or chip in her complaint is the first I have heard of .  I also tried to explain to her that if there was mold on subfloor or insulation with the little the insurance company aloud for i would definitely take pics and measurements and call the insurance company for extra funds but this was not the case but if it were i would make more money so there's no reason for me to not change anything we found that had mold on it. On 2/21/22 she met with me again at my store, I gave her all the receipts and the final bill . She then started to negotiate to me that she didn't feel like she owed me the full amount. By this time i just want to get this over with so i agreed to sum which i wrote out and we both signed it, she told me she would send me a copy of it with final payment but as she was leaving my store she wanted to buy 2 ohio state outdoor chairs i had and told me she would add that $100 to the final payment. I never received final payment but instead she basically wasn't going to pay me unless we went back and did work that was not in our 3 contracts. It is a 30 minute ride there and I pay my guys by the hour, i would constantly ask her to be there so my guys could do everything  at once but no, she would put blue tape on things and then put blue tape on other things the next day. I do have all our text messages, insurance claim paperwork, and all 3 proposals as well as many pictures.   ****** *******

I don't agree with overall picture he is trying to portray. I will just pursue this matter in small claims court.
