We had mold on windows and a musty smell in our office in our condo, which we reported in 2017. The management company said contact the window company. We paid an Andersen window installer $547 to put in 2 new windows.
In May of 2020, we started smelling the musty odor again. The management company sent someone out to inspect the issue and found extensive water damage on the outside of our unit. They hired BAS Industries to fix the problem. The man in the photo (I forget his name) bragged over and over again to us that the work he was doing would guarantee we would not have any more water damage. We did not hire him (the Board of BriarThorn did), so we hoped he knew what he was doing. The board said they would split the cost of repair and the new window with us, even though the window cost is the responsibility of the homeowner, because it was not our fault about the water getting in.
Fast forward to 2023, and we had the exact same odor and some more damage to our SECOND set of new windows! We reported it to our Association, and when the siding was removed, there was damage even more extensive than found in 2020! Whatever BAS Industries did, it not only didn't help the problem, it made things worse.
We have been fighting with the Association and their lawyers about who should pay for our now THIRD set of windows (totaling $931). The windows were ordered and are about to be installed, but the association is making us pay for them.
Since the work of BAS Industries was shoddy and made our issue worse, we would like a refund of the $612.50 AND the cost of the new windows that we never should've had to order. The total is $1543.50.
When we suggested the Association go after BAS Industries to recover the money spent on shoddy work, they just told us nobody returned their phone call. I also called BAS and nobody returned my call. I see from their website they are still in business.
