Complaint: This property management company did not return full deposit. They falsely claimed additional cleaning was required and blinds were damaged. They refused to resolve this dispute and will not communicate.

Facts: The apartment walkthrough at the end of the lease was positive, no complaints, no suggestions for additional cleaning, no items to repair or replace.

Opinion: This property management company keeps some of all deposits for profit and this is very shameful. People make an effort to clean in good faith and expect to receive their money back. People trust that a company will keep its word and honor the agreement. This company is not a good company and if this matter is not resolved, we will never rent from them again and will advise against anyone renting from them unless you have no choice and you also can expect NOT to get your deposit back.

    Extremely disappointed with this company.

The Company / Property Manager: Twin Oaks of Fairlawn LLC
The Complaint: The property management company (Twin Oaks of Fairlawn LLC) withheld partial security deposit for invalid reason(s) or without properly detailing the reason(s) and without allowing for opportunity for tenant to resolve.

    The Facts:
I was charged $250 for cleaning, torn blinds.
I rented the apartment in question for approximately 18 months.
I completed my 12 month lease and was on a month to month lease.
I provided 30 days written notice of intent to vacate.
    I vacated on schedule.
I performed a thorough cleaning of the apartment and patched all holes in walls.
I rented a professional carpet cleaner and provided receipt.
I passed a walkthrough with the property manager representative
ZERO issues identified for cleaning or repair.
ZERO items identified that needed attention.

    Explanation for the torn blinds:
I was also sited for torn blinds without details and I can explain the reason for the torn blinds which is this:
The only mini blind throughout the entire apartment with a possible issue would be the front door. This is an old door with glass louvers and a small mini blind.
The ONLY portion of the blind that was damaged was the last 3-4 slats at the very bottom and they were positioned over the glass louver opener which pushed against them over the course of the 18 months. This would purely be a result of how the door, the window, crank and the blinds were installed!
The slats were ABSOLUTELY NOT damaged by improper use or accidental / reckless behavior. If this really needed to be replaced and I must be held accountable for this, I will accept paying $7.14.

If that is the case, I expect an additional $242.86 to be return to me.

    Twin Oaks of Fairlawn LLC.
this tenant damaged the blind, requires paying handyman $75/hour for purchase and installation.
our cleaning guy requires minimum $250 charge. The carpet was stained? Thank you. Sorry for Delay. I was in a bad accident with concussion and just returning to work. ******* ****** ************

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: the accusations are 100% false.  There were absolutely no stains on the carpet as verified by the walk through inspection and video walk through. The blind damage from the window handle has nothing to do with the tenant.  It's very clear to see and for them to claim it was anything else shows the level of either deception or incompetence.

This is disgusting and shameful and bad business. This company's reputation has been stained. I do not recommend renting from this company.
