On April 12th 2024, my house was all but cut in half by a fallen tree due to sever storms. DRS (Disaster Recovery Services) responded and were later hired to restore the home. There have been numerous delays after DRS was paid in full for the repairs. Work remains unfinished, the subcontractor performing the work was pulled off the job multiple times. Every inquiry regarding this is met with an excuse after excuse. When the subcontractor was returned to the job, it was not a team it has been one person. Materials decided upon and approved were never ordered and now have gone out of stock or price has increased - causing DRS to force changes on replacement items. DRS provided a hard deadline to finish work by the end of April (4-30-25) and we are now into June with work still unfinished (originally estimated work - not new issues that were discovered). DRS continues to shift the blame from one thing to another. However at this point I am running out of options for housing and will soon with my daughter be homeless.

    In response:

The date of loss was April 12, 2024.  DRS wrote an initial estimate and sent it to the insurance company on April 18, 2024.  The insurance company completed their initial estimate on June 4, 2024 and an agreement was made with regards to the price and scope of repairs at that time, with the understanding that supplements may be needed.  Homeowner signed the ************ Agreement on June 19, 2024.  DRS received a down payment on June 24, 2024.  Production started July 9, 2024.  Exterior work was near completion on August 8, 2024 minus the gutters and waiting for the inspection from the county.  County inspection was completed August 12, 2024.  That same day, our ** reached out to the homeowner and to the adjuster for more funds to be able to continue with the repairs.  The job was put on hold until more funds are released.  As of September 10, 2024, we still had not received any funds. Sent another follow-up email to the insurance adjuster regarding release of funds on October 9, 2024.  A new insurance adjuster was assigned on October 15, 2024 and was brought up to date.  As of November 5, 2024 still no additional funds to continue.  In other words, the insurance company cut funding for this claim from August 12, 2024 until November 5, 2024. Because of the long delay in receiving additional funding, our subcontractor was pulled from this job to do other work.  Finally, on December 3, 2024 a payment was received.    Once the additional funding was received, we had to wait until the subcontractor could finish the other jobs he was working on before he could come back to this one as it was by no fault of DRS or the subcontractor that the funding wasn't there for many months.  Work resumed on February 21, 2025.  Work continued on interior (drywall, electrical, plumbing, cabinets, ceramic tile, etc.), and the majority of the work was completed as of May 28, 2025.  As of June 11, 2025 there were additional insurance supplements awaiting approval from the insurance company for electrical and plumbing work.  There are still some things that need to be completed.  The homeowner has a "punch list" of items and the carpet will need to be installed.  The carpet that the homeowner picked out was over budget and the ** had again been reaching out to the insurance company for multiple weeks to get approval.  ** finally heard back from the insurance adjuster on June 13, 2025 regarding the carpet.  It was approved, and the carpet is scheduled to be installed on June 24 or June 25, 2025.  The repairs are not paid in full.  DRS is still owed a substantial amount of money to be paid at job completion.

I had the company complete services in November of 2023. In April of 2024 i reached out about concerns of work performed (roofing and siding). Someone came out on April 8 and texted me 2 weeks later saying they were still working on it. In August i reached out for an update. Asked to be contacted after 4pm and not by the person i was working with. 9am the next day that guy called me (2 things i asked not to happen). On August 28 a different person came to look at my house. I have heard nothing regarding repairs i requested that are covered by my warranty.
