Mr. Bennington came and quoted our project late August, just a slab patio for a hot tub off the stairs of my back deck, not stamped - nothing fancy, said it will only be three yards of concrete. As with several other contractors that came out to give us estimates, Mr. Bennington required a deposit of half the project up front. We signed the contract and paid the deposit (August 31st, 2022). On September 2nd, 2022, he showed with his rototiller, marked off where the slab will be placed, took the trellis off from under my deck, and tilled up my yard. He also claimed to be affiliated with a technician to install the electric for the tub. So, on top of my yard being tore up they also disassembled my breaker box. On September 2nd, Mr. Bennington said he and his electrician would be back first thing that Saturday morning to gravel and tamp the area and run the electric - even leaving his wheelbarrow and gardening tools. We were told he had our concrete scheduled for that Thursday, September 8th from ***. They never showed up that next morning or at all. It was at that point he stopped responding to calls, text, and emails. My husband and I at this point asked him to send the copy of our contract over that he said he was going to send. He ignored us for 2 weeks. I then posted on social media to see if anyone could get me in contact with him. It was at this point he texts my husband asking him to ask me to take my post off social media and hesitantly sent our contract to us. Claiming that he already sent it, which he never did. This all happened 9 days prior to the deadline of our contract. Mr. Bennington claimed to be in a car accident and was not able to call, text or show up. My husband agreed that we would take our post down if he will finish the project by his deadline of September 30th. So, I took the post down. He never text, called or showed up after that.
