I hired **** Davis in early Sept. of 2023 after a huge tree fell on my ********** furnace also had a small explosion inside of it blew soot all over everything inside. They said that they would have my home all fixed up within 3 months. after 7 months of them working on the house intermittently they had cleaned out most of my contents of the house, put in the wrong size windows & had done nothing with the roof or siding. Then they disappeared for 7 weeks after I had paid them a total of $27,500. My home is all tore up & they have about $500,000. worth of antiques other contents of the home over a year later

    Business Response

Dear Mr. ****************************** you for taking the time to express your concerns. We do value every customers experience and want to address the issues raised in your complaint with clarity and transparency. As noted, your home unfortunately experienced two separate incidentsthe fallen tree that damaged the exterior, and the furnace puffback which affected the interior. We recognize that the complexity of managing two claims simultaneously may have led to some confusion and we want to ensure clarity around the situation. These were two completely separate claims, which were processed by your insurance company.

    To clarify:
An (estimated) $40,000 check for the content pack-out, cleaning and storage was issued jointly to **** Davis Restoration and yourself (this check is still in your possession)
An additional (estimated) $44,000 insurance check for interior repairs was issued directly to you.
Another (estimated) $20,000 check for exterior repairs was also issued directly to you.

According to the insurance adjusters' estimate, we have completed over $33,000 worth or work on the "interior" repair claim and our records indicate we have been paid $22,500.00. While we understand that there are outstanding tasks to be addressed, it is imperative for us to receive compensation for the work already completed. In order for our business to continue operating properly, we must be persistent in ensuring timely payment so we can best serve you, as well as others.

With winter approaching at the time of the claims, we mutually agreed to prioritize the interior work after you had arranged for another professional to install a protective roof tarp. Our team spent several months cleaning, packing, painting and storing your belongings so that the interior repairs could begin safely. Although we understand that there is still interior work that needs done, there is also an outstanding balance for work already completed. At this stage, the contents of your home have been professionally cleaned and are securely stored in our warehouse. Unfortunately, since you refuse to release the funds provided by the insurance company for these portions of the claim/s, we have been unable to proceed with further work. Our goal is to ensure that your home is fully restored, but we must respectfully request again that the remaining payments be released before we can move forward. We understand that this process has been challenging, and we are committed to finding a resolution that allows us to move forward in completing the necessary repairs. Please let us know how we can work together to bring this situation to a successful conclusion.

    Thank You,
