Date of transaction: 01/22/2025-01/24/2025 Amount paid: $475 ******* ****, the owner of Appealing ************** committed to providing me with a complete fix of the leak coming from my cast iron drainpipe under my second-floor bathroom which was leaking from the toilet ****** and what he said was two cracks in the cast iron. He told me it would be $475 total for this work which included the temporary epoxy ** **** fix he tried on the original cast iron, which still leaked. On January 24, 2025, he came to replace the pipes with PVC pipe after already cutting out the old cast iron pipe. After replacement, he told us we could try to flush and run water in the tub and sink in a few minutes after he finished installing. We waited approximately 10 minutes and did as instructed and had two leaks from the newly installed PVC fittings. He tried to fix them with plumbers putty and a rubber fitting but it did not work. He seemed annoyed that it didnt work and said he would give us a quote to fix it tomorrow and that he would get in touch with us. He was very hesitant to help fix the first issue after the ** **** epoxy to replace it that day. I did not hear from him that night after consulting other plumbers and professionals on how he did. I sent them the picture I will provide below, and they told me there were many things wrong with his work, and that it is not up to code and definitely wouldnt work even if it didnt leak. I wrote a review on his page with only the picture, no shaming his work, and with only the caption You decide if this is quality work as I did not want to badmouth him, but I want people to be aware of what they would be paying half of a grand of money for. He did not try to resolve the problem for free or offer a refund. He tried to get more money from us to fix his mess up. He also threatened, blamed and belittled me over text. I will include all screenshots. I unfortunately cannot add videos. Thank you for your time.

It didn't look like that she turned water on 23 hrs and 20 minutes before she was supposed to and had trying to stop the water from leaking that's why it looks horrible.. we talked before I left and said I'll be back tomorrow to make it right and 2 hrs after I left i came on the app and she tried to blast me even when we agreed I'd fix it for free even though wasn't my fault.i have hundreds of references, thousands of photos and too many return customers. Always got to have one bad apple. Anyways after she ruined my work I offered to fix it for free as well as refund so I did my part about trying to please this customer that is trying to slander my business! Believe what you want i know what happened and so does the one above!Yes and the epoxy was only supposed to be for that one part leaking and when I came back it was leaking 2 other places so I'd at least need you to buy a big container of epoxy so I can cover the whole pipe that was now leaking. I didn't threaten her i said I'll pray for you because I'm a big believer in karma, I did everything in my power to fix for free as well as refund. I have nothing but good reviews from hundreds of customers.  Before I left we agreed I'd would come back next day to make everything right and 2 hrs later she is slandering my business on next door app

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of my decision appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this response.]

He did not try to refund me and on the Nextdoor app/website he kept claiming he would refund me and when I told him to refund me he wouldn't. I did not want him to come back and fix it for the 3rd time as the first and second time it was not fixed and he just wanted to extort more money out of me. He did not offer to fix it for free as the last day of service 01/24/2025 before leaving he said "I will give you a cost for me to come back and fix this tomorrow". I am sorry but I refuse to pay for a 3rd time of more money and waste of my time for an issue that did not get fixed correctly the first two times by a person who is incompetent in the service he executed. Instead of being honest and telling me he was unable to do the job or not knowledgeable to do it correctly, he still tried to do the job in order to get my money from me. I have plenty of professional plumbers telling me this was shoddy work and it will cost $1200 to get it correctly replaced and up to code, as it it not up to code the way he "repaired" it.
