I have had a membership to Creekside Fitness & Health Center for the past 7 months. I recently began going to college, and became eligible for Creekside's college/high school discount ($25 / Month). I went in to the club at the beginning of last week and asked to purchase a 6-month college/high school membership for $150 total. The gentleman working at the counter pulled my account up, and told me that it would be a lot easier in their system if I came back when my membership expired (1/19/2024) to renew my membership. I agreed to his request. Today, I went to the club on the day my membership expired to renew my membership as requested. I was told that the club no longer offered the college/high school membership, and that the "Youth" membership they now offered instead started at $45 a month. After explaining my situation to the lady at the front desk, and describing the request the business had made last week, she told me she would head back to the managers office on my behalf to see if they would be able to honor the previous price. I did my workout, and came back up to the counter about a half hour later. When I returned to the counter, the same lady told me that due to their billing system, they were unable to put in the old college/high school price for me. The lady instead told me that they were able to do a $30 a month plan if I purchased a 1-year membership, or to come back next month when they decide to run a managers special. In this conversation, the lady opened by telling me they had no way to put in custom pricing for memberships in order to honor the old price, and finished by telling me to come back next month... When the manager would have custom pricing in their system. I felt that this entire situation was dishonest. It feels like I was intentionally told to wait to renew my membership so that I would have no choice but to pay more. All I want is to renew my membership at the advertised $150 for 6-months price. I will still happily do so.

    Hello,

We did change our pricing and our policy for the student memberships. We sold a student membership for $25.00 + tax with a valid student schedule and changed to a youth membership for members up to 26 years of age (no schedule needed).  I would be happy to honor the price for the member, they just have to contact me as the front desk staff is unable to change the prices.

    Thank you, ***********************

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

    Regards,
