I paid $150 for 6 obedience classes for my 9 month old puppy at Gone to the Dogs on 10/12/22. The business is located at Sunrise Center Drive in Zanesville, Ohio. My puppy started class on 10/20/22 and had one more class on 10/27/22. They had a one week break and to resume on 11/10/22. My puppy became ill on 11/4/22 with kennel cough and I received a vet bill for $184. I called the business on 11/7/22 and informed of my puppy's illness and that he possibly won't be in class on 11/10 because kennel cough is so contagious. She informed me that they had other dogs from daycare that also were sick with kennel cough. I was informed by the vet that he can't go to class if still coughing 48 hours from the time of class. I called the business back on 11/9/22 and informed he won't be in class. I then found out that one of my co-workers who takes their puppy to the class right before mine that her puppy was sick from kennel cough and got sick a few days before my puppy. I then decided to call the business back and withdraw my puppy from their classes and requested a partial refund from the 4 other classes totaling $100. I spoke with the owner, Stacy and she was very rude and brushed off the illness. She also had incorrect information about the illness. I asked why there wasn't notification that there were dogs sick at their facility and she states it was only the daycare dogs that were sick, even though they are all in the same building. The facility isn't that clean and smells strong of urine. Plus, they let all the dogs share the same water bowls and toys, which increases the chance of the dogs getting sick. She states they don't give refunds, but there is nothing listed on their website regarding this or on my receipt. She states they could have had another dog in class, but the class wasn't full from the beginning. I also noticed on past reviews that other dogs have become sick from their facility in the past years.
