We are a Non-Profit Organization. We have a service annually for our deceased members of which we wear a gown (looks like a choir gown). We took them to Olde Towne to have them cleaned and pressed as this hadn't been done in awhile. One of our ladies took them the first week of April, they were supposed to be done in a week. She called them two weeks ago about them because she hadn't heard anything from them and they hadn't started on them. They gave some excuse about the lady that handled them had quit. She called again last week and they claimed to have them part done but that they wouldn't be ironed very good. They then had some guy call her back who claimed to be their driver and quote a price that they were going to cost us around $560. This was for 13 gowns that all they had to do was wash, dry and press them, and if I'm not mistaken, they are machine washable. Little steep don't you think. Well she went to pick them up today, one wasn't done, first they tried to say someone else had picked it up, then they found it. They ended up charging us $286.34 for 12 gowns and they didn't even iron them, plus there were neck scarves they charged for that they did nothing to. I feel they are scamming people for things they aren't doing and charging ridiculously for what little they do. Their excuse for the price was that they had to raise their price. They need to be investigated. I know we will pass the word among our membership not to use that dry cleaners. I am the Secretary of this organization.
If there is another avenue I should take, please advise me what that is. Thank you
