      My name is ***************************** and I am a member of LegalShield. I requested legal assistance late last year to solve a matter with non paying tenants (collection and eviction). It took a long time to find someone in ******** (I am in KY) to help my matter. I was referred to the first attorney ******************* which was pompous, not helpful and plainly incompetent. In fact, he was so incompetent that he was advising me to collect on a writh of warrant from the judge with NO money awarded by the judge (he made me fill out a collection letter). The second attorney I was referred to was ************************* whom I paid for 1 hr consultation under the premise that he will take my case (which he said he will after eviction). During the hour I paid, he was flustered, not concentrating and I had to repeat several questions, several times in order to have him reply to them. I thought he was more competent than the first one, but un-attentive and flustered. Finally, due to the fact that I was scared I might be referred back to the first one, I complemented *****, even though I felt I didnt have his full attention during the hour he was supposed to dedicate to me. He also didn't provide proper advice to ask for collection from judge at that time. Also he refused to take my case after the eviction because it was too hard. The third lawyer I was referred to is *****************. ****** is competent, responding to my inquiries and helping me through my ordeal. However, now that I am receiving good advice, I found out (which neither of the 2 previous lawyers made us aware of the fact that the judge has to expressly award the money judgement otherwise I cannot collect. He is advising that this is a long process and very costly ($5,000 to $7,000 or more). I would like to keep working with ****** in this matter.Had we asked the money judgement during the eviction hearings, we would have not have to go through the costly process to ************** tenants directly but neither one of these 2 lawyers mentioned above gave us proper information. Lastly, legal shield is quiet and not helping or responding to my concerns.

      membership contract addresses the payment of out-of-pocket expenses in the General Provisions. General
      Provision F. 2. states, “General Exclusions: The following items are specifically excluded from this Contract,
      are not eligible for the 25% Discount, and shall not be interpreted as included Services under any provision of
      the Contract: The payment of fines, court costs, filing fees, ad litem fees, penalties, expert witness fees, bonds,
      bail bonds, and any out-of-pocket expenses.” If a member is not happy with the services being provided by a
      Provider or Referral Lawyer, PPLSI needs the member to report their experience so that the issue can be
      addressed. PPLSI does not have any information about a member’s experience with an attorney due to attorney
      client privilege.

      ******* and left a detailed voicemail regarding this request. PPLSI will not be able to accommodate Ms.

      service representative reached out to the member regarding this BBB complaint. The Provider Law Firm
      experienced phone issues on Thursday and Friday resulting in the issue the member experienced. Hold times
      may be longer than usual this week as the Provider Law Firm works to catch up from the phone issues last week.

      I hired Legal Shield to represent me for suing the police service and the Public Guardian and the ****** They took my money and didn't do the job. They told me that no one could help me and they didn't refund my payment for an individual account when they can't take cases with issues that individuals face. I left them after two months. I am being assaulted by *************************** and her family and friends of the ************* and they are blocking lawyers from taking my case so I needed Legal Shield to take my case and save me and my family and friends from a slow death from microwave weapons and electronic harassment tools and frequency weapons. Legal Shield was told this is my reason for my membership. I am still being blocked by *************************** and her family and friends and the Solicitor General is working on getting the ***** to investigate my case. I have a newspaper article about this case. I have no choice but to try Legal Shield again to see if any of the ********************************************************************************************* to the same firm that couldn't help me the first time. If they don't have the ability to work on individual issues and only have lawyers for businesses they should be clear about this because we are losing money and time and trust in paying for the service when they can know this case of terrorism and racism is happening but they can take my money for the membership but not see if any of these 900 lawyers will help me. Suing the police and the Public Guardian and the ***** are not unusual issues. These are situations an individual can go through. They aren't able to support any situation that an individual will face but they lie and say they can.

      Consultation was provided by the Provider Law Firm at which time the member was informed that this may be a
      difficult case to refer. PPLSI cannot force an attorney to take a case. The Provider Law Firm will do what they
      can to find a referral for legal matters, however, sometimes it is difficult to find a referral who will agree to take
      on a case. PPLSI does not advertise that any situation will be eligible for coverage. PPLSI does not have a

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I was told by the saleslady that Legal Shield can handle is***s of individuals and they don't make any exemptions to what they can do. They say they cover what individuals need and that they have many lawyers but when I reported this is*** to them they began by telling me they couldn't understand my situation. They told me they were going to tell their lawyers what I told them so the lawyers would understand why I need them, but they treated my reporting as frivolous and they ignored me. I ended up canceling the membership. I recently had the is*** seen as legitimate enough for a newspaper to write an article about this method of slow remote death. I also have various political offices and prominent citizens that understand my situation and are concerned about my case upset that lawyers are refusing to meet with me. Legal Shield needs to say they don't handle lawsuits against the police or the hospital or the Public Guardian or the city because these are common enough businesses to *** that they are completely lying about being able to serve individuals if these areas are not things they cover. I attached a lawyer describing this type of terrorism and how the law sees it. I also attached the newspaper article because it makes clear that the reporter found enough truth in the evidence I emailed him to write and name the murderers that are still working as police officers and are still murdering me and my family and friends.

       

      If Legal Shield still can't cover these areas with an individual membership and they can't refer me to any of their 900 lawyers then they need to fully list what work they can do for individuals and what work they can't. If they only handle ***** they don't say so either with their saleslady or with their website.

      I received a call from a lawyer from ***** and ***** who told me that Legal Shield is lying about being able to handle any case because he has sent my file to everyone in his referral list and they are all too afraid to *** the police service and the Public Guardian and the ****** Hospital. I told him that Legal Shield says they can handle any case and that this is proving this advertisement on their website to be a lie and he agreed. I told him that. I am going to cancel my membership and get my refund and he agreed that I should. Legal Shield is lying about being able to help individuals with individual is***s because these businesses are who individuals may have need to *** and Legal Shield doesn't have any lawyers prepared to do that. They have written on their website that they handle anything that an individual will face but they don't. My family and friends and I are dying and if they can't get anyone to help in this kind of situation then they can't help individuals with anything. They need to change their website.

      I am sorry to hear about Mr. ********* situation. However, PPLSI is not able to force a lawyer to take a case.
      Section III – General Provisions and Exclusions C. in the membership contract states, “Provider Law Firm’s
      Professional Judgment: It is in the sole discretion of the Provider Law Firm to determine whether claims or
      defenses, pertaining to any matter under this Contract, are frivolous or otherwise unmeritorious, including
      decisions to take any contingency case, appeal any judgment, or appeal any decision. The Provider Law Firm
      reserves the right to make independent professional judgments about the provision of any Services under this
      Contract. The Company will in no way influence or attempt to affect the rendering of professional services by
      the Provider Law Firm.” Every legal matter is different and requires different courses of action. Unfortunately,
      in this case the Provider Law Firm has not been able to find a referral lawyer who is able or willing to handle
      this legal matter.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      They lied about their being able to handle any case for individuals. I have proven this and I want them to change the language they use on their advertisements so people aren't being manipulated into buying a membership that Legal Shield isn't able to enforce.

      I provided you with a newspaper article about this case and a lawyer who describes the weapons being used against us. If none of their 900+ lawyers can take my case then they can't handle any case for individuals. The referral lawyer said that all the lawyers are too afraid to take my case.

       

      I need my money back from January as well as my money for this month. I already cancelled my membership but I haven't been refunded for this month and I don't have confirmation of my cancellation.

      I am not seeking any further financial compensation for this lie in advertising because these lawyers are all refusing to take my case. I want the money they made from me because they are lying about their abilities to handle any case for individuals. I also want them to remove this lie from their advertisements because this is the only reason I paid to speak with their lawyers in the first place. If they said people need to speak with them about their case rather than state they can handle any case I would see it as more correct. They are proving that they can't handle any case.

      8/8/2023 Re: Reference #: **-KQG-PBK Hello I created a case with my law firm on 8/2/2023.An attorney called me the same day and got a summary of the case. After summarizing the case, I told her I sent a document with all the details/photos, etc., in writing and confirmed with a secretary that I had received it. She said that was perfect and that she would review the document and then give me a call, if possible, until Friday (8/4/2023), if not the latest Monday (8/7/2023), as they have three business days to review a document. I said that was good. I expected to get a phone call on Friday, but nobody called me; then I expected a phone call Monday, but I have yet to hear back from anyone. Then, today (8/8/2023), another attorney called me and said the first attorney went on vacation and he would take the case.That was super unprofessional and very upsetting.And he told me that my plan allows document reviews up to 15 pages (for free), and if more, there is a charge. I said the first 15 pages have all the necessary information; all others are just extra photos, so you can only review the first 15 pages. But he didnt accept it and said he could not review it because its over 15 pages.1-After I sent the document, I called the firm and asked if they received it, and they said they did. Then, why they didnt tell me that my plan allows 15 pages and only the extra requires a fee?       Upon receipt of this Better Business Bureau Complaint, we have reviewed the membership file. The
      LegalShield benefits provide document review for documents 15 pages or less. The Member sent 32 pages to be
      reviewed and was told there would be a charge for longer documents. The Provider Law Firm cannot break up a
      document for review as the document has to be taken as a whole for a lawyer to provide accurate information
      regarding the review. In this case, 27 of the 32 pages were pictures so the Provider Law Firm is allowing an
      exception to review the full information. The Provider Law Firm has been in contact with the Member, the
      document review has been completed, and a letter has been drafted, approved, and sent.

      Dear Legal Shield,I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from your company. I have experienced a pattern of complaints concerning service, contract, advertising, refund/exchange, billing/collections, and customer service issues.I have encountered issues such as attorneys not coming prepared to court, not filing the correct paperwork, not having the paperwork, not showing up to court on my behalf, and not being knowledgeable in the laws regarding my needs. Additionally, have experienced customer service issues such as not answering the phones or emails, not calling back, over charge membership I never requested, and complaints not being solved.Furthermore, I have had billing/consultations fees outside referrals and no refund issues such as cancelling and continuing to say my account is closed and then not getting refunded for situations like this. I have also experienced advertisement issues such as not getting the services that were advertised for my package.I have spent over $3,000 in consultation fees for your outside lawyer referrals. I still need a lawyer as the company I am fighting is stealing from me and committing fraud, retaliation, discrimination, and malicious destruction of my personal property and my cars. Im tired of your lawyer reminding me they havent been in court for years all they can do give legal advice and send a referral. You get the lawyer referral pay consultation fee but dont get representations. Your company advertise you have lawyers to appear in court. When? All the request I have done since 2014 current just a bunch of unnecessary advice. Lost a lot of money over the years Im sure tell people dont waste their time.       received consultation on her legal matters prior to being referred under the 25% discount benefit. To receive
      representation, Ms. ****** will need to retain an attorney. Members are given the option to receive a referral to
      an attorney who they may retain for representation. These referrals are made under the 25% discount benefit.
      Depending on the legal matter, a member may need a more in-depth consultation or guidance from the referral.
      Members may have to pay a consultation fee at that time, again, with the 25% discount benefit. The Preferred
      Member Discount benefit states in full, “During the term of your Contract, a Covered Person may use the
      Provider Attorney for personal legal matters that are not otherwise provided by this Contract. The Covered
      Person will be entitled to services at a 25% discount of the standard hourly rate subject to the Provider
      Attorney's Professional Judgment and a separate Attorney-Client Contract. This does not apply to contingency
      fee matters or flat fee arrangements, which may be negotiated at a separate rate with the Provider Attorney.”

      Upon receipt of this Better Business Bureau Complaint, we have reviewed the membership file. Mr. *******
      has been enrolled in a LegalShield membership since January 1, 2023, through his employer, as named on the
      payment option form he attached here. The reason LegalShield has attempted to contact Mr. ******* about his
      membership is because it is going to cancel due to nonpayment. If Mr. ******* would like to continue the
      LegalShield membership, he may contact Member Services a 800-654-7757 between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. CST
      Monday through Friday. If he does not wish to keep the membership, it will cancel on its own due to
      nonpayment.

      I signed up several months ago for a small claims case. Since then I have received NO help. I have been referred to other states with no help. I have talked to the initial law firm in ** on several occasions. They referred me to VA. I talked to them who told me they couldnt help me so I went back to ** who then referred me to ********. Im still waiting for the help. During this whole thing I have had to keep calling, following up etc. what excuse I got was a computer glitch. I had to follow up for the referrals several times before I actually got a referral. I complained to the corporate office, who so far has done nothing. The ******** attorney was upset that I was referred to him and wanted to talk to *****. After waiting over a week I received a notice that my case was resolved which it wasnt. I called him back and explained that it wasnt. Ive been trying to reach The ******** for over a week now and no one returns my calls.I want a full refund

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I signed up in April 2023, thats 4 months ago. The only thing I wanted was a demand letter. I have gotten the run around from the law firm in **, VA and ******** with ** being the main firm. They have repeatedly gotten information wrong, directed me in the wrong direction etc. yes there consumer complaint division has called but only after I contact my direct representative ( who told me about legal shield). She has been wonderful. I have talked to the complaint division several times before with no results. My representative and myself are the ones that keep driving my case. The last call I told them that the ******** firm had finally contacted me so for the moment it seems everything was being taken care of. Not that I was satisfied. Regardless of this the facts that it had taken 4 months so far, 3 firms, countless phone calls from me and my representative just to get a letter sent is ridiculous. This should have been taken care of in a week or two.

      with the services she is receiving, the member resolution department works to resolve those issues. If Ms. ******
      tells them she has no further concerns, they cannot provide further support or resolution. Ms. ****** has a
      referral lawyer who is working on her intake now.
