Whirlwind roofing is the most unprofessional company I have worked with regarding my home. The company was aware we were filing a claim with our homeowners insurance and that would be their payment. We gave the 1/2 down from our insurance company and believed it was understood that "payment after completion" of our roof meant that once our insurance paid us the final amount, that would be given direction to them. However, within a week of our roof being placed, we were called and harassed CONTINUOUSLY by one of the employees. When we explained that the final payment needed an actual INVOICE and not just a "roof certificate" from our insurance agency he became angry and slanderous towards myself and my husband, stating things like "I thought you all were big shots, can't you just pay the 17,000", etc. He went so far as to call my father (I am 51 years old) demanding payment. When I explained that our agency had approved the claim and it would take 1-2 weeks per them to receive payment, that was not good enough. He threatened to file a lien on our home. He would not accept a credit card payment or partial payment. He is abusive and foul. We do not recommend ANYONE use this companies services.

*******, we are extremely confused and upset by this review. Your father and our owner Dave are best friends. Because of that relationship, we traveled to Edmond, which is outside of our service area, to help you with your roof. Your husband, ***** ******, was our contact on this project. We only met with you one time when you picked out the shingle style and color, and signed the quote to begin work.
We actually prefer to work insurance claims, but that requires a signed agreement. After initially forwarding your insurance paperwork to us, you and your husband changed your minds because you had a friend at State Farm to help you with the claim and wanted to “minimize your out-of-pocket costs.”
By not allowing us to assist you with your insurance claim, it changed the project to a retail quote. This means we would not work with your insurance company, insurance proceeds, or final invoice your carrier on your behalf. The retail roof quote we provided offered three options for a good/better/best roofing material as well as flexible financing payment options. The quote had clear payment terms of half down to secure materials and balance due on the day of completion.
When we followed up on the quote with your husband, he said you were still reviewing the quotes from two other roofing contractors but you wanted to see some shingle sample boards. Dave and Adam drove to Edmond the same day to bring the sample boards because you were both available. During the meeting discussing shingle type and colors, you and your husband decided to choose our company.
You and your husband both agreed to the terms and signed the paperwork. You provided a personal check for ½ down to begin work per the signed quote. Insurance proceeds as payment was never discussed.
The roof was installed on October 2nd. The invoice was emailed to your husband and a copy was hand delivered with your warranty packet on October 10th. Your husband paid the balance with a personal check and told us to hold it a couple days so he could move money to his account.
Everything up to this point went well communication-wise and per our signed agreement. The problem began a week later when we asked to deposit the check you gave us (as a courtesy) and then were ghosted. We did not harass you, call you liars, or demand money. We did, however, follow up a week later with two emails and two phone calls, but neither were returned.
On Sunday, October 22nd, your father called Dave to talk about a movie he saw. Dave mentioned to him that we hadn’t been able to reach you. Your father said that you and your husband had filed for divorce in September and were planning on putting the house on the market immediately. This gave us pause because you were avoiding our calls and emails.
Dave spoke to you and your husband on the phone after your father asked you to call him. Dave told you that we were still holding your check even though you were ghosting us. He said we would be forced to lien the home for non-payment because you were listing the house and we had to protect our investment. You screamed profanities at Dave and hung up.
*******, we did not lien the house, and only deposited the check we had been holding for weeks when you and her husband gave us written authorization via email on October 23rd, three weeks after your roof was installed. We could have deposited the check at any time but held on to it as a courtesy because your father and Dave are best friends. Sadly, they are no longer best friends.
This 1-star review is not earned. We went above and beyond for you and your husband. We were more than patient even though you refused to communicate with us and took advantage of our kindness.

Excellent experience dealing with this company. Family owned. I was given a detailed estimate on roof replacement, some siding replacement, and complete exterior house paint, along with new gutters. Everything was completed exactly as stated, at the estimated price. Couldn't be more pleased. Would highly recommend these folks.
