Accent Moving was contracted by my husbands employer to move our household belongings 150 miles to my husbands new job location. During the move, the castors on my console piano were bent so that my piano no longer will stand upright. We filed a complaint with the company and sent repair and replacement estimates as requested. The company denied our claim because they said that according to loading documents, the piano was already damaged. But there is nothing about the castor or the piano not being able to stand without tipping forward on the loading documents, just that the piano had scratches, which is not part of our claim. And when the movers arrived it was standing up just fine. We currently have the piano sitting on wooden blocks so it is not useable. My husband emailed the company back explaining this and we have gotten no response. We did get a letter saying that if we disagreed we could go through arbitration using their arbitrator.

The condition of the piano at origin was noted by the loading driver. The customer then acknowledged the condition stated on the inventory by signing the document.  Again, at time of delivery, the customer signed for the condition of the piano.  The piano was placed on 4-wheel moving dollies due to no legs being present at time of loading.  The piano was not moved or directly placed on it's own casters until it was set in place at destination. The movers were not in possession of the piano legs. The customer was offered arbitration after the claim denial.  The customer did not pursue the offer of arbitration.

I am rejecting this response because:   The condition of the piano at loading contained nothing about castors being bent because they were not bent at the time of loading.  We moved the legs on our own so they wouldnt be damaged during the move.   They did send a letter stating that and said all further correspondence would need to go through mediation.  So basically wasting my time for their mistake instead of owning up to the damage.
