    I’m a property owner in Marshall County and hired Van Meter Property Management in 2021 to manage my property as a rental. I pay $180 per month for their services. I feel the company has mismanaged my property and has broken the contract. Last year the company hired a plumber and the plumber didn’t finish the job so I was charged for two separate plumbers to complete one job. The company didn’t accept responsibility for their mistake and to this date won’t provide documentation of home inspections. The tenants have two cats in the home and Van Meter says a deposit has been paid for the cats but Van Meter is refusing to provide documentation of this and isn’t responding to my emails after stating the tenants don’t feel safe with me when I inquired about the deposit. I live out of state and have never spoken to or met the tenants. I’m ignored by a company I pay each month and cannot get them to send me any documents pertaining to my property.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have never received documentation via mail or email showing a deposit has been made for the two adult cats that have been inside the house.  I was told via email that a deposit was made for the adult cats and when I asked for documentation because I believe I’m being lied to, I never heard back.  After sending more than two follow up emails I was informed the property manager would be in touch but I have still not been contacted.  I feel this is an easy resolution and the fact that no one at the company can show me proof the tenants put down a deposit for two cats leads me to believe I was lied too and that this company is dishonest and misleading.  
    As for the plumbing issues, I was told the original plumber didn’t finish the job and had quit the company he was working for and that is why they hired a second plumber.  I wasn’t aware of this until my statement from them and I told them I should have been notified just as they had notified me the first time.  
    At this point all I want is proof of the cats deposits.  If none can be provided the company has shown they don’t follow their own rules for the leases they make and are dishonest.  I was told via email a deposit has been made but no one to this date has provided proof of this.
