    Business Response

    Date: 03/22/2023

I have received your letter In regards to complaint assigned ID ************ person is not my customer. (Although I have spoken with him)  My business has nothing to do with his complaint.  Somebody has used my business name, Midwest Classic Motorsports, parts of my business logo & my business address to create a fraudulent website that looks as though they are a classic car dealer.  I do not sell cars. This is not the only person this website has been able to scam out of large sums of money.  I have talked to a law enforcement officer who stated there is not much that can be done about this problem.  I have reported the website to ******* and ****** allowed me to change MY ****** search page back to its original & correct info, which had been taken over by this fraudulent website, but there is no option to remove my business info in its entirety without marking my business closed. So far ****** has not however taken down the phony fraudulent website.  In fact its presence has continued to grow. Ive posted in forums where complaints are being made & Ive wrote in reviews on the internet that this website is a scam. The web address for this fraudulent site is as follows ********************************

The title of the website is Midwest Classic Motorsports which is the same name as my business and the address listed on the website is my business address, ************************************************************. The current phone number listed on the fraudulent website is an ******** number *************. The number changes but is always a (405) area code. Complaint ID ******** said he wired money to ********** of ****************** He was able to contact me, because when I contacted ****** about the situation, and I gave them my actual business phone number, so I could gain access to my ****** search page, my phone number was then posted on MY ****** site so everybody that has been scammed by this fraudulent site is able to call ME, which they do non-stop because they think my business is responsible.  I have since removed my number for this reason.  This has not only created more than a hardship for countless people who have sent so much money to these scammers, but it has also put a blemish on my company name, and it has created a huge hardship for me as well. Between the angry visitors to my shop & the constant phone calls, I cant even operate my own business as I am forced to stop painting cars, which is time sensitive work, to deal with this. The problem started within ****** If you choose to remove your business info from ****** your business is marked closed but the info remains in the search engine leaving your info open for scammers to take over Even your own BBB website has my business name with my business address listed as a car dealership, now. WE have never been a car dealership.  Any help from you in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
