We bought a car from atlas auto in the beginning of April we put a down payment of $1500 within 2days the car didn't work properly about 2 weeks later i finally had time to take it in and not mess with my work schedule and they couldn't fix it they sent me to the ford dealership which didn't cover it under warranty I had to pay a diagnostic fee of $185 and for a bunch of ubers because I had no car to take me to the dealership or work then the ford dealership gave me a print out of all service history and we decided we couldn't keep the car due to issues over and over happening to previous owners less than 1,800 miles from each other he decided to take the car back at atlas auto and only gave us $1,200 back instead of the $1,500 we put down he said he could've gave us none back and he took out $300 for "fees" when we already had to pay $185 to the ford dealer for the diagnostic fee so now im out a car and $485 i would like to at least see my $300 back from my down payment because now I have no car and have to pay uber for me AND my fiancé to get back and forth to work

Ms. ********** purchased a 2014 Ford Focus Titanium on April 10th, 2025 from Atlas Auto Inc. Her down payment at the time was $1500. Ms. ********** made a complaint several weeks later that something was going on with the Focus and we advised her to bring the vehicle in for diagnostics. On May 12th, 2025 the vehicle was brought in so the mechanics could run a diagnostic on the vehicle.  At this time our mechanics advised her that it was the Transmission module inside the vehicle. After further research one of our employees reached out to Metro Ford OKC about open recalls for this vehicle. Metro Ford stated they had extended the recall time on the Transmission control module and one other recall and to have the customer come in with the vehicle so it could be completed. Within a few days Ms. ********** made an appointment and took the vehicle in. Once at the Dealership I am not sure what happened only that Ms. ********** states she was charged a $185 diagnostic fee and they didn't fix anything. We agreed to have the vehicle brought back to us and the part replaced so she could continue to drive the vehicle. The part has been replaced and the vehicle drives fine. Ms. ********** made the choice to return the vehicle. We offered and tried to finance her into something different and unfortunately could not make that happen. We came to an agreement to return $1200 of her down payment after title work, document fees, and time frame she did drive the vehicle. In the documents Ms. ********** signed it does show document fees are applied.

Date of transaction: June 7, 2024

    Amount paid: $18,500

The business sold me a 2017 Silverado LT Z71 with a clean title on a (as is) agreement, meaning any problems it has mechanically cosmetically were my job to fix

My dispute is when I tried to register this “clean title” truck in Kansas, the DMV told me I cannot register it until I have the title branded as a salvage rebuilt title. They say the truck was totaled in 2022 and the paperwork was never done to brand the title. I requested to return the truck for a full refund. I paid for a clean title and that is not what I received.

The business has refused to undo the sale.

If they cannot refund the whole amount. The very least I am requesting is $7000 so I can refinance the vehicle at its true value.

On the evening of August 8th, 2024 the customer reached out stating that he was having trouble with the Truck title. I was not able to get ahold of anyone due to the time of day. On Friday August 9th, 2024 I started looking into his concern stating something was wrong with the Title and unfortunately did not get any information that day. On Tuesday I reached out to our local Tag Agency in reference to the Title status, they gave me contact information for Service Oklahoma for further assistance since they also seen the vehicle listed as a "Clean Title." I spoke with the State of Oklahoma ( Service Oklahoma) ************
They are stating that it did have an accident in May of 2022. Progressive still deemed it as a CLEAN, GREEN title because it was not over 45% of a loss. In August of 2022 the title was still listed as GREEN and CLEAN. They suggested that a Kansas tag office contact. Service Oklahoma for additional information. Customer then asked when and who we bought the vehicle from, so I sent that information as well. We bought this vehicle on December 16th, 2023. It was purchased from * * * ****** **** ******** **** ******* The address is **** * ****** *** Oklahoma City, OK. 73109. I am sure this vehicle was sold through Auction to them. We continued to correspond by email and I will be including the emails. The State of Kansas will not tag the vehicle due to the Title status, but the State of Oklahoma says the status is not required to be changed. We offered to help him get the vehicle tagged in Oklahoma since the State says no Title modifications need to be made. We are in compliance with the State of Oklahoma. We also provide a copy of the Carfax if available.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The CarFax report shows it was declared a total loss by insurance on 05/05/2022

No title brand was reported by a DMV but should be branded as such

The Harvey County KS DMV states in their system the vehicle is salvage, the carfax states it is salvage. The state of Oklahoma is the only place that thinks it is a clean title and that is incorrect. Harvey county has no interest in speaking with Oklahoma because Harvey County is correct.

When I first called about this title issue Atlas Auto stated over the phone they had issues with the title as well. After further inspection I noticed the vehicle was never titled in their name. This gives me suspicion they avoided this to keep the “clean” title.

    Sincerely,
