I had no problems with agency for 18 years. I changed banks in February-March, 2022. I called David Burrows Allstate Agency and talked to the employee. I gave him information on the new bank and he said he had taken care of changing the draft to the new bank. I received a letter from a collection agency in August 2022 for $89.06 for Allstate. I called Allstate agency and learned my bank drafts had been "refused" and no payments made since April 2022. He said they sent me a letter that I did not receive. I paid the collection agency and the employee said my insurance would likely be reinstated, I told employee to call me and let me know when I had insurance coverage. I called the agency weekly for 4 weeks and left messages asking for a call back. I never received a call. On week 5, Sept. 30, 2022, he answered the phone and told me I had insurance through another company and I made a payment using my credit card. (This payment never showed on my credit card statements.) On October 30, I called to get my new verification card. On Nov. 1 I received the insurance verification for a company other than Allstate, with an effective date of 11-1-2022. I received an email requesting a signature for my new policy, as David Burrows employee had set it up. I signed and returned the form to the new company. I assumed I had full insurance coverage (since I had paid for it for 18 years regardless of the age of my vehicle. On January 20, 2023 I had a wreck and I was responsible. When filing the claim, I learned I did not have coverage for my car. The level of service I have received from David Burrows Allstate is negligent. The employee informed me he had changed payment drafts to my new bank. A simple phone call in April 2022 would have avoided this situation. Not returning calls, telling me I had insurance when I did not, taking a (fake?) payment by phone, and then changing my coverage from 18 years of full coverage without consulting me equal negligence.
