We ordered a Monument headstone on 5/23/24 at Pellow Monument Works in Enid OK. We put down a total of $2950. No stone was made and I was told by a funeral home director they were out of business. There has been no notice of being out of business. They are not answering the phone. How can we get our money back?Customer Answer

The first initial encounter i had with this business was November 18th 2022. I have patiently awaited the completion of my grandparents' headstone for a duration of seventeen months. Originally assured of its readiness on October 2nd in 2023, repeated inquiries have yielded consistent assurances of imminent delivery, yet regrettably, each pledge remains unfulfilled. Despite persistent efforts, the promised delivery continues to elude fruition. My family has tendered a partial payment ($1,500) for the headstone to be ordered and engraved, a decision for which we are now grateful, given the persistent delays experienced. At this point i have not been shown any evidence of the headstones completion which leads me to wonder if its even been engraved or ordered to Pellow Monuments. After 17 months of trying to get this sentimental project completed i would appreciate your assistance.Initial Complaint

In 2019 I purchased a headstone for my sister and dad. After months and months of the run around, the stone was finally set in place. I had ordered a phot be put on that headstone and paid for the it all in full. Here we are in 2024 and still I do not have the picture on the stone, that has been paid for in full.In December of 2023, I was told the photo had been ordered. Still nothing from this company! In September of 2021, I contacted Pellow Monument for pre-need marker for my mother. It was completely paid for and arranged on 11/5/2021. When my mother died 5/10/22, I contacted them immediately to get the marker. I have been in constant contact but my mother's grave still has no marker TWO YEARS LATER. Please, please help me! I just want a marker for my mother. They won't even anwer my calls now.Initial Complaint

I ordered a headstone from Pellow Monuments in **** ******** on October 24, 2022. I put a down payment, which was $2,000. I was told the headstone would be ready in 6 months. One year later, in October 2023, I called Pellow Monuments and asked how much longer until the headstone was ready. They told me that they had the headstone and that it would be laid the following week. The following week, they still did not lay the headstone. I have talked to them a couple of times after that, and each time, I'm told the headstone will be laid next week, which they do not do each time. I finally emailed Pellow Monuments in December of 2023, and they were full of excuses, and they said the headstone would be laid that month, which again didn't happen. It is now 15 months later, and they still have not laid my mother's headstone.Initial Complaint

My mother and I purchased a headstone for my brother ****************************** on November 16, 2022. I have spoken to *************** numerous times and only get the run around. *** always says that the headstone will be up by the next week, and it never is. She said that severe rain has not allowed them to install, or their crane broke down, the truck broke down.... always an excuse as to why it did not get placed at his grave. I started keeping a log of our calls in April of 2023 once I knew I could no longer give her the benefit of the doubt. I now cannot get her to answer my calls (unless I call off of a number she does not recognize) and she is no longer returning emails. I now see all the negative reviews and saw that Channel 4 even did a story about their failure to do the jobs they are paid for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.THANKSInitial Complaint

I paid off a headstone in March of 2023. It is now November 2023 and we have yet to have one set. We have reached out a few times and either they do not reach out or give us the run around. One excuse was because of the rain. I understand the logistics behind it. But the ground is dryer then dry and still no headstone.
