  Nature of the Dispute: I am filing this complaint due to a significant issue of non-disclosure and conflict of interest that arose during our transaction with Katahdin Cedar Log Homes of Oklahoma. ******* ********, who represented Katahdin in our dealings, failed to disclose that she is the sister of ***** *****, the contractor recommended by her for our construction project. This lack of transparency influenced our decision-making and led to subsequent problems with the project, including delays and financial mismanagement.Resolution Attempts: Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues directly with Ms. ******** and Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, satisfactory resolutions have not been offered or achieved. Communications have largely been unresponsive or insufficient concerning the gravity of the issues raised. This lack of proper response has necessitated the involvement of the BBB to seek a fair resolution.We request that the BBB facilitate a dialogue to address these concerns, aiming for a resolution that compensates for the mismanagement and non-disclosure that has significantly impacted the completion and financial aspects of our home construction project.

  The non-disclosure claim is not valid. I have never hidden the fact that Marty Davis and LaVonne Pinkston are siblings. There is no way to prove this since meetings were not recorded
  My website www,cedarloghomesofokla.com and my facebook page both detail that we are a small business. A post on Sept 7, 2021 details that Marty Davis builder and LaVonne Pinkston are siblings. 
  The wilsons were told that Katahdin Cedar Log Homes of OK have two building crews. Builders are assigned as jobs occur. Marty Davis, builder was available at the time the Wilsons were ready to build. They were advised that they could find and choose another builder and that we would support their builder with consultations from a Katahdin builder if they chose to go that route. They declined.
  At no time during the 2 year period of working together did the Wilsons ever let me know that this was something they thought I had hidden. 
  Their builder lost his home and his wife in a house fire. He was in Hillcrest hospital Burn unit for months. He never did recover completely which delayed the Wilsons build completely. They are angry about this and looking to recoup wherever they can. Since there is no money available they are choosing defamation in addition to anything else.

  I am rejecting this response because:   

  LaVonne Pinkston's reply contains several inaccuracies and misrepresentations.

  Non-disclosure of familial relationship: At no point during our interactions were we made aware that Marty Davis and LaVonne Pinkston were siblings. The assertion that this information was publicly available on a website or Facebook post is irrelevant, as it was never directly communicated to us during the contract discussions or while the project was in progress. Regardless of whether this information existed online, it should have been made clear upfront, as it represents a significant conflict of interest. LaVonne’s claim that this was disclosed at some point is both unsubstantiated and incorrect.

  Choice of builder: We were not informed that we had the option to select another builder. In fact, we were under the impression that Marty Davis was the primary builder associated with Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, and no alternatives were presented to us until significant issues had already arisen with the build. It is misleading to suggest that we were aware of and declined the option of using another builder.

  Builder's personal tragedy: We have deep sympathy for Marty Davis’s personal loss and the challenges he has faced. However, LaVonne Pinkston’s attempt to deflect responsibility by referencing this unfortunate situation fails to address the core issues at hand—namely, the inadequate communication, delays, and poor management of the project, long before the tragedy occurred.
  

  Accusation of defamation: The claim that we are engaging in defamation is both unprofessional and baseless. Our frustration stems from legitimate issues with how this project was handled, not from any desire to “recoup” money due to the builder's personal situation. This is not about financial gain, but rather about holding Katahdin Cedar Log Homes accountable for their failure to meet contractual obligations and provide the level of service we were promised.
  

  In conclusion, LaVonne Pinkston’s response does not address our concerns, and her attempt to shift blame does not absolve her company of its responsibility in the mismanagement of our project. We stand by our complaint and expect a fair resolution.

  Non-disclosure of familial relationship:  The Wilson's claim that relationship was not disclosed at some point is both unsubstantiated and incorrect. There was never a reason that this would have been hidden or not disclosed. I have nothing to prove this one way or another nor do the Wilsons.
  
  Choice of builder:  On October 26, 2021 The wilsons were told that we had two different building crews. On October 27, 2021 I specifically asked if the Wilsons would be using a Katahdin builder or if they had others. The Wilsons replied back to say they have not discussed a builder that knows log homes.
  
  Builder's personal tragedy: At no time am I trying to attempt to deflect responsibility. I say the same things over and over and am rebuffed at each turn. I stand by my claim of defamation of my character.
  
  My contract has been fulfilled. The Wilson's are attempting to take the Davis Log Home Contract and tie that specific contract to me.
