    On July 3rd our boat lift broke and punctured a hole in the bottom of our Crownline (fiberglass) boat. We called FiberTek to get a quote to fix the whole. Shane (owner of FiberTek) came to our boat on July 10th with his boat trailer and loaded our boat. He gave us a quote of $2000-$3000 and said that he would have the boat less than a week. He also stated that he would have it inside his shop the entire time so we did not need to send the boat cover for weather protection.
    After weeks of Shane telling us his delaying progress on the boat work, we visited his shop to find the boat had been sitting outside in the weather and he had not done any work on the boat. When we requested that he return the boat, he presented us with a bill for $2,095. This bill was handwritten on scratch paper and included $750 for haul out, $600 trailer rental, $500 to lift the boat on jacks, $225 Gel Coat, and $20 8 mileage. This bill equals $2095. Shane did not do any work to our boat. The trailer rental, haul out and lift charges were never mentioned to us. Shane held our boat for 55 days total stating that he would not return our boat to us until we paid him in full with cash only. When we did finally get the boat back, Shane had not done one thing in an effort to fix it. After consulting an attorney and law enforcement, on September 1, 2022 we met him at the boat ramp and paid him with cash to get our boat returned since it was going to be a long process to pursue a legal battle, all the while our boat is sitting outside deteriorating. Shane has been very hostile and vulgar each time we have contacted him about returning our boat. We did obtain a signature from him that he received the cash- paid in full and we took a video of the transaction so we would have proof that he had been paid with cash. I am attaching some of the text messages exchanged but many of the interactions were by phone and in person. I am also attaching a photo of the bill that he sent to us via text message.
