I had an agreement with the stable to board, ride and market four horses. The owner of the stable runs a polo program and agreed to take the four horses to board, ride, and help sell the horses for polo. -The horses were supposed to be at the stable from Sept thru ********** horses were delivered on 9/9/23 and the boarding bill was paid in full ($1200). -The owner of the stable agreed to market the horses for polo at $10,000 a piece. On the morning of 10/9 I was notified by text that one of the ***** had been injured. Text didnt indicate what had happened but that she was being treated. 10/12 received communication that the stables had taken the mare to the vet and that eye drops had been prescribed. 10/17 was told the mare couldnt be road and was wearing an eye patch 10/18 back at vet for more eye drops 10/20 vet came to farm to check the mare Was notified by friend in area that mare was not doing well and that recommend I come pick her up. 11/4 drove from SD to OK and picked up all four horses 11/7 took mare two specialty vets in SD, those vets called the vet in OK to discuss. OK vet called back and left VM saying he had only seen the mare once on 10/12 and by the time he saw her the ***** eye was gone. She is blind in that eye The stable failed to provide a normal standard of care, they should have called the vet immediately when the mare was injured. They should have been clear when they contacted me as to the extent of the injury. The mare suffered through a very painful injury without proper care. I have incurred vet bills as a result of the injury, the stable didnt refund boarding for all four horses leaving early, and the value of the mare has been significantly reduced as a partially blind horse is no longer able to play polo. I can provide a copy of the OK vet VM, copy of boarding payment and statements from SD vets.
