I went to ENT of Oklahoma to get hearing aids. I conferred with ****** ****** and when I asked how much the hearing aids cost, he said $2,200. I agreed to that price and they proceeded with the paperwork. When I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BC/BS) it was for a total cost of $5,450. I called ENT and said I got an EOB, but I haven’t ordered the hearing aids yet. ENT said they process the claim before providing the services and the hearing aids, and when they get their money, they call me in to get fitted. I also asked why the amount is $5,450. ENT said that’s how much the hearing aids cost. I said that ****** ****** quoted me $2,200. ENT said that’s the cost for just one. I immediately asked them to return the money to BC/BS as I will not be getting hearing aids from them. Since July 16, 2024, I’ve been trying to get ENT to refund $2,500 to my Blue Cross and Blue Shield Federal Employee Program. For the following month, I checked with BC/BS, and upon hearing they had not received the refund, I would call ENT and they would confirm that they sent it electronically on July 16, 2024. On Aug 12, 2024, after a month of no refund per BC/BS, I again called ENT and this time they checked their records, and found that “there was a glitch on their side” and the refund did not process. They said they would process it again immediately, on Aug 12, 2024, and send me the info they sent to BC/BS. Still no refund, or info to me from ENT. On August 19, 2024, I called ENT and asked for their insurance person to call me. I haven’t received a call-back from ENT as of today, August 20, 2024, and BC/BS has not received the refund.
What can be done to get ENT to send the refund?
I question their practice of filing a claim before services are provided, and I’ve raised the issue to BC/BS.
    Thank you,
