My husband is active duty in the army. He got orders to PCS to Fort Sill, OK. Seeing that we were out of state, we chose to rent a home and completed a video walkthrough. Unfortunately since it was via video, they left out many details such as privacy fence not in good shape (we have dogs), one toilet is leaking, one of the showers does not turn on sometimes, and the home is infested with cockroaches. We moved here on a Friday (1/3/25) and were given the keys. Upon entering the home, we noticed a few dead cockroaches. We texted the company and found out that there was in fact an infestation and they stated that they had the home treated. Well after being in the home for 24 hours because we didn’t have anywhere to go, cleaning it top to bottom, spraying a home defense spray on the interior and exterior, there are many live cockroaches all over this home. Of course it’s a weekend and we have nobody to get in touch with, we cannot buy groceries, and we are going to have to cancel our household goods that were scheduled to get delivered on Monday 1/6/2025 because we do not want all of our things getting infested. We cannot afford to go to a hotel and we have 3 dogs as well, so we are at a loss of what to do and cannot function in this home. I have many pictures and videos to provide as well.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/13/2025

Thank you for bringing the concerns to our
attention. We value feedback and aim to ensure a fair and satisfactory
resolution for all our clients. We understand that you received a complaint
about an issue with the presence of roaches, and cleanliness of a home upon
move-in. Please note that the property was thoroughly cleaned and
professionally exterminated prior to the arrival of the tenants, as evidenced by
attached photos taken after the cleaning and treatment. Despite these measures, we understood the
discomfort and respected the clients preference to terminate the lease
immediately. To address this amicably, we: Released
the client from the lease the same day your complaint was received. Issued
a full refund of the deposit and any rent paid. Did
not charge rent for the time the property was under their name. Following their departure, we observed that the
property required additional cleaning due to dog hair left behind by their
three large dogs. While this required extra effort on our part, we have not
pursued any charges for this or any other related expenses, maintaining our
commitment to customer satisfaction. Given the swift and considerate resolution
provided, along with the evidence of the property's condition prior to their
tenancy, we believe this complaint to be unwarranted. We remain confident that
no other company would extend the same level of courtesy under similar
circumstances. If there are any further concerns or details,
you'd like to discuss, please feel free to reach out. We are committed to
fairness and transparency in all our interactions. But we respectfully submit
our frustration with this complaint, as it is misleading as to the condition of
the property and the actions, we were swift to take in order to maintain a high
level of client satisfaction.  We honor our commitment to always placing
    humans over houses.
