  Contacted Sheppard Concrete to do an interior concrete stain job to match/near match a previously stained portion of our home, a relatively uniform light brown tortoise shell with a mat finish. June of 2022 paid $2,700+ down of a $6,500 job. The work was started late, but *******************************, who identified himself as the owner of the company assured us the jobs was "amazing..." Contacted early September by ******************* saying they $1,500 more (> 23% increase above original estimate). We refused to pay until we were able to inspect the work. Mid Sept, ******************* indicated job near done; arranged to meet ******************* at the property. He was not there when we arrived. We inspected and found our newly painted walls in 4 bedrooms, closets, built in cabinetry and family rooms, splattered with concrete stain, smeared concrete and stain on woodwork and splatters of stain up to 5 feet high on built in cabinets that we had also just had painted. A hammered copper bar sink was used to rinse mops and the stopper was pulled out of the drain, breaking it. There were concrete stains on the kitchen refrigerator and cabinets, a room they were not doing any work in. Floors were ruined. Instead of a close match to the existing uniform tortoise shell, the staining was wildly irregular with the colors ranging from mat black to shiny grey and areas of brown to blood red. The finish was completely lacking in some areas and glossy/shiny in others. and some areas we could see the underlaying concrete without any stain at all. Outside the home, we found red stained hand prints on the white walls of the exterior, where the workers leaned up against the house to rinse their equipment. There were dried pools of concrete and stain in the yard and planting beds in the front and back. ******** never showed up. Sheppard Concrete put a lien on our property before ever seeing the damage his crew did. Have had to hire lawyer.
