Prompt response to initial call for estimate. Was personable and friendly. Came the same day after i explained time was limited to get a second estimate. Requested a written breakdown of the estimate to include with my bid. Said he would write it up for each phase of the project. Never received the estimate or a response to attempts at contacting him after that. Granted it was a big job to tackle, but time was wasted waiting on the estimate thought to be coming when had he said he was not able or couldn't do the job, it wouldve been no problem to have had someone else come and do it sooner than later. Cant comment in the quality of work because he never did any.

Jerod ******, President of Above the Competition, LLC, was hired as a contractor to refurbish a house after flood damage. He installed new dry wall, wall texture, paint, and flooring. Most of the doors had to be replaced as well. Although Jerod worked quickly and completed the job in a month or so, the quality of work was extremely poor. He did purchase the paint and tile we requested from Home Depot but used second hand, substandard materials for many of the repairs, especially doors. For example, he promised to purchase a new toilet for a second bathroom and the brand and model was specified. He purchased a toilet from an outlet with stripped screws on the seat so that the seat can't be tightened. A Dupray steam cleaner was borrowed to clean furniture but was never returned. When the bathroom plumbing was reconnected it leaked and we had to hire a plumber to fix his errors. The tile flooring is not evenly spaced and the grout has areas that are pitted or unfilled. Several doors were installed backwards. For example a bedroom door opens into the hallway and can't be closed now that the furniture has been returned to the house. The closet doors are not correctly sized and leave a gap when closed. They were poorly painted and look unfinished. After investing $30,000 for the work we have had to contract with another contractor to repair as much of the work as possible (rehanging the doors and correcting some of the painting), although some things can't be fixed (e.g., the tile floor).
