Eight weeks ago, I found someone from ************* to agree to help me get ************** set up for $50 an hour. His name ************************, I signed up for four ******s with ***** .On the day of our very first ******* I asked him if he possess the skills to help me get my studio set up at home, he then proceeded to give me a business card and tell me about his business called velvet groove productions. He told me that would be very simple and he was capable of much more and he would charge $50 an hour just like I offered and that was his rate for hourly tech service. He met me at my house the following Saturday, and the first thing I did was show him my studio and tell him what I wanted to accomplish and he says no problem. We should be able to finish this tonight..***** has attention deficit disorder, so he has a hard time focusing because he is constantly talking and his mind is constantly racing.Needless to say, he was here for like five hours, and only did about two hours worth of work, and he apologized and told me he would only charge me for two hours. He said he would get over here next week and finish up no problem.I shouldve mentioned this first, but I paid ***** $200 in cash, and that would be equal to four hours in labor.***** still owes me either $100 or two hours in technical labor.I have contacted ***** every week and sometimes twice a week to see when he could come back over to finish up the job because I am moving soon and will not be able to use him when I move.He was aware of the situation, and my timetable and repeatedly would make plans to come over and then call or text me and give me some lame excuse of why he could not do it that day.I am in the process of packing my house right now and will be out by the end of the month and my last day that I could have had him over to complete the service was on Sunday, June 11 of 2023. I am moving an hour and a half away.I called him that day and asked if he was coming over and he told me he forgot what day it was and he was sorry he would just try to have to work something out.I suggested just refunding the two hours that I paid for that he has not completed and he told me he did not have any money. His wife is the breadwinner and he doesnt work very much and I assume he doesnt get much work from this velvet groove production business.I knew he would not have the money, but I thought I would ask him anyway.I learned my ****** not to pay people in the future for work, not yet completed. The only resolution I see is him refunding my hundred dollars and its a lot more about principle than the money.I have literally spent hours of my life trying to recuperate this hundred dollars because it just ****** me off when someone has a poor work ethic and refuses to compensate for services paid.If I had hired someone from a brick and mortar store, and they left me hanging for two months and wasted my time. I would be doing the exact same thing and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on principle alone.I simply cannot refer velvet groove productions to anybody, it has been a horrible experience, and a total waste of my time, and I am no further along on my studio than when I started.I will still have to pay somebody to complete the job and do the work that ***** refused to do.He is a nice guy, but I cant help it if hes so scatterbrained that he cant figure out a way to get over and finish the work that I paid him for in eight weeks.Although ***** has attention deficit disorder, I know that he is not as flaky as he was insinuating. He just figures hes already got my cash, so theres no need to finish the job and I believe he thinks that I am a pushover and will not press him until this matter is resolved.I will continue to look for my restitution and will not rest until it is met.I will be happy to review velvet grooved productions on any formats available and share them my real life truthful experience. This company is extremely subpar and I would look elsewhere for my A/V needs.Use this company at your own risk. And for the love of God, if you choose to use ***** with velvet Grove productions, I would suggest not ordering a pizza and making him feel comfortable, because then he will be totally distracted, and not worth a dime.Do not welcome him into your home, and treat him with respect because he is a poor businessman that will waste your time and **** you off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
