    I had appointments at ******************** office on 04/18/2024 and 04/25/2024 for surgery on my big toe. Surgery was completed and I had a follow up 05/13/2024. I am not supposed to be charged a co payment for a 5 minute follow up with ****************, but his accounts payable charged me anyway. Accounts payable realize she is in the wrong as this claim has not been filed with my insurance Aetna.

    This is in response to ******************** complaint received about him "not supposed to be charged a co-payment" for his visits with our office.  Please note that he was seen on 4/18/24 for an initial office visit and per verification of benefits with his insurance company, a $40 copayment was collected and once claim processed that is the amount that his insurance company indicated as his responsibility.

    He was then seen on 4/25/2024 for an office procedure and for an over the counter item.  Our office collected a total of $75.00 ($25 for over the counter item and $50 for the copayment which was an error on the part of our front desk staff as the copayment is $40). Once the office procedure was processed with his insurance company it left him a credit of $10.00.

    Pt was then seen on 5/13/24 and again a $40 copayment was due...he had the $10 credit and we collected $30 at the time of service to cover his copayment.  Once his insurance company processed this claim...they did show him responsibility for a $40 copayment.

    At this time, there is a zero balance on his account and all claims have been processed by his insurance company.  Therefore, no refund is due.
