I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the treatment I received when attempting to schedule an appointment for my 6-year-old son at the Pediatric Dental OKC on Friday, January 3rd, 2025. Despite their office currently accepting new patients within the 0-10 age range, my request for an appointment was refused because my child has had cavities and dental procedures in the past two years.

As a parent seeking professional dental care for my child, I was shocked to learn that prior dental history—especially for something as common as cavities in young children—was a basis for refusing treatment. This policy seems not only arbitrary but also contrary to the purpose of pediatric dentistry, which is to address and manage the oral health needs of children, especially those requiring care and intervention.

Their website and advertisements create the impression that all children are welcome as patients. Nowhere is it explicitly stated that children with recent dental procedures or a history of cavities are excluded. This lack of transparency is misleading and results in unnecessary inconvenience for families like mine who are seeking care in good faith.

My son's dental health is a priority, and it is precisely because he requires consistent and professional care that I reached out to this practice. Refusing care based on a history of necessary dental procedures is, in my view, discriminatory and contrary to the principles of patient care. I respectfully request clarification regarding these policies for accepting new patients, as well as an explanation for the rationale behind this specific exclusion.

I look forward to your response and would appreciate a resolution to this matter.
