I received a quote from OUaC for two larger items. As is their policy to offer, I asked for an itemized price list of what they were offering per item. Upon returning with the itemization, the OUaC employee told me the quote had gone down due to “an error”. Upon asking why the quote had decreased after I asked for an itemization, I was told the original employee had priced the item too high because it was missing pieces. I told the employee that all pieces which were part of the original item were present, and then was told that “even if all the pieces are present, it’s a base model and won’t sell for as much” as a model that would be worth the payout quoted originally. I did say that it felt like bad business to give a customer a quote and then to not honor the quote. The employee reiterated that they had noted an error and corrected it. I pointed out that, had I not asked for an itemization, the quote would not have decreased. I told the employee that doing business with a company that didn’t honor their quotes did not feel good, and felt underhanded. Ultimately, the employee likely noted that I had an agitated toddler and would have to wait for OUaC to repack my items if I chose not to accept the lesser quote. Overall feels very underhanded and disingenuous. The difference in the quotes is not great, but the fact that the company refused to honor their quote or make the situation right with the customer, along with giving changing reasons in an attempt to justify the change in quote makes the entire situation extremely upsetting.

    Hi,

I'm sorry I don't get much mail so I don't check the mailbox very often, just found your complaint today.

I completely agree with you the offer should not be changed once it is made.  The employee made a mistake. I will speak with her so this does not happen again.  I am happy to pay the difference of the original quote if you did end up selling the item to for the lower amount.   Just let me know how you would like me to do that.

My apologies this is not our policy.   Thank you for letting us know, you can reach out to me anytime at my email:   *******************************

    Sincerely
